Players Handbook II

No, but they could do something like Rifts did and supply an Index Book that spans all the released products. It would list all the rules, feats, classes, etc and then what book, page, etc.

I personally don't see that as being extremely useful, but it's sorta along the lines of a "comprehensive" book that wouldn't shoot WotC in the foot.

I would have to agree that having all the rules for D&D in one book is a good idea for the players but it's not a good idea from a cash making stand point (though Wizards could add stuff later to the D&D line to make $).

You felt the need to make a personal attack after I commented neutrally and analytically on your post. I don't care what you think you've explained after that - you strike me as rude and obnoxious, not polite.

A personal attack?... (Note: That was in the next post)

Nah mate, you're the one who doesn't "get it", being the person who felt that this post was objectionable enough to warrant getting personal and insulting me in response:
No, we're very sarcastic. Your accent probably hid the necessary intonation to signal it, though. I'd also assume that sarcasm intonations, like accents, sometimes differs across borders. It's possible that they were expecting more subtle sarcasm, so took what you thought of as obvious sarcasm as too blatant to be sarcasm, and therefore interpreted it literally.

:)

For some reason you keep leaving out the part that the text wasn't meant to be posted on this board ... ;)

If you copied your response above into another board dealing with the subject "Intonations" without explainig the context it came from would it then cause confusion?

Be happy! Don't worry!

Disclaimer: Any questions here are rhetorical. This post has been altered to appear happy and anything conflicting with that is a coincidence. I will not respond to this subject further in fear it will be in conflict the mood of this board. :)

Bonedagger..

/me points at Morrus' post (the one just after rounser's post that Bonedagger just quoted) and hands Bonedagger a happy hat.

I wouldn't mind seeing a truly REVISED PHB, perhaps in a couple of years, where they could iron out a few of the rules, and tweek a few classes to make them more balanced perhaps, but a totally new PHB would be erroneous.

Why?

Because I already use many books from multiple publishers, to a very large extent. I had to literally buy a briefcase/bookbag just to house all the books I need to run a game... The sad part is, I still don't have anywhere near enough room, thus making every trip to a game decision-making time.

Hmm, which books are truly must-haves for my session this weekend?

I want to throw away old stuff and get new stuff. I don't pile up on things. I'm not a collector. I can see why the idea isn't very popular - gamers are collectors. Preferably I don't want to own more than I can carry.
Thanks for the *book clarification. I like to walk to a D&D player and be sure that he knows how to use a cleric or a wizard and how much damage a fireball does. What's more, publishers (including WotC) want the players, all of them, to have a PHB. Otherwise, you would have to make double versions of each module, for example. That's why I like that there is a single PHB. It's not a matter of collecting.

Now, it's not impossible to make a big book of stuff, only it has to be clearly marked as optional, not core, requiring the PHB to use, and not needed for other supplements. None of that would cause any trouble for anyone who wants to completely ignore the PHB material, since all classes, almost all skills and most feats have always been perfectly modular, and the only bits of the PHB you'd still need are the basic rules and any player who played so much that he got tired of the base classes certainly knows them well (or at least can photocopy them). I think they could be easily fit in ten pages ("so you can as well place them in the new book" ;), yeah I know, but it would create the aforementioned problems).

Thank you, Bonedagger! :)

Heh. Not that your post was really grumpy but given previous posts in this thread, it's best not to take any chances... ;)

So... I now consider everyone here to be aware of Morrus' friendly reminder!

Yes, I consider being called "easily provoked" unnecessarily insulting given that I didn't make comments on your character, but you decided to be rude anyway.
For some reason you keep leaving out the part that the text wasn't meant to be posted on this board ...
Because it's irrelevant - I was commenting on your attitude, not what you think explains it away.
Be happy! Don't worry!
Stop being patronising!
