I have to say, between "Playing Shadar-Kai," "Deities & Demigods: Bane," "Planar Epic Destinies," and "Secrets of the City Entombed," Dragon 372 is one of the best issues released so far, and we still have two features to go, including a new FR city described by Ed Greenwood.
I for one, really enjoy the chance to try the races from the back of the MM, now that they have been fleshed out. Out of the four races presented so far; Gnoll, Minotaur, Shadar-kai and Warforged, I have created characters for three. Warforged just didn't thrill me, but my Gnoll ranger, Minotaur gladiator (another great article, BTW) and now a Shadar-kai Avenger.
Looking forward to the Assassin article!
My PCs are in a fight with a shadar-kai right now, and I was psyched to see that the way they describe their race is almost exactly as I was playing him. I may have to see if I can coerce them into letting him live...
Sorry, Rechan. These are good ideas, but avin suggested modrons, so we're going to start 15-part series of articles. ("Playing Monodrones", "Playing Duodrones"...)
It's just me, probably, but I find that Warforged work great as modrons, and are...less goofy.
Another great article, though! The Shadar-kai are quite a bit more interesting than originally percieved. I also like the idea of putting out feats for all sorts of different classes. More of these kinds of feats are needed.
