Playtest--Gestalt houses

Daz

First Post
So, I've ben kicking around a house rule for a campaign that takes place in a fairly nonstandard world. The basic premise is that all families have some sort of innate magical abilities (in the form of sorcerer spells) that are passed down through the bloodlines.

All characters have the spells and familiar of a sorcerer equal to their character level, almost like they were built using the getalt character variant, except they do not gain increased will saves or other class abilities.

If you're interested in making a cool character that might not necessarily see use in a long term campaign and are willing to post often, go ahead and start working on a character. you can use any 3.5 material other than the book of exalted deeds. Race should be human though.

I'll be around for people who have any questions or want clarification.

No. For the purpose of the platest take whatever domains you want.

Also, character level is seventh, and the characters use the standard wealth guidelines for that level. Characters should be built using the point buy method with 40 points available.

edit: any domains you use should be available as per core

this is just a playtest for the rules, I'll start the actual campaign later. for now anything that fits into the standard dnd setting should be fine, but since it's a playtest I don't want to worry about 3rd party sources.

Armor

Since everyone in the campaign world casts spells as a sorc, armor is not as common. Use the defense bonus rules here ,and the armor as DR rules here. You can gain DR from armor and class defense at the same time, but the AC bonus' don't stack.

sorry if this is kind of complicated, but I think it will help in balancing the classes.

I'm interested.

Hm, Warlock/Sorcerer with fey heritage feats  CoM
H Fey Heritage
1 Fey Skin
3 Fey power
6 Fey Legacy

Or druid/sorcerer with levels in arcane hierophant RoW
H Education
1 Spell Focus (Conjuration)
3 Augment Summoning
6 Natural Spell

So, if I choose sorcerer as my class does that mean I get 2 familiars and double the spells per day?
