Instictive action seems to be there exctly to balance the lack of OA on the summons. With Dex druids balanced around melee control, and thus using their OAs themselves, summoned creatures should not be drawing on the same resource. Instinctive action lets them do damage regardless if the right conditions are met. Great flavor and concept, really looking forward to seeing these in action.

TBH it's not that bad. My 15th level rogue has +22 to initiative. He has yet not to go first. Meaning, it's easy to get initiative if you want it.

Probably uses some item or has a tactical warlord (or both). +7 (level) +6 (Dex) +4(feat) +6 (warlord) or something similar (change either Dex or Warlord to +7 and make a +2 feat bonus from Quick Draw for instance).

My absolute wish is that the updates to the GSL include things from Player's Handbook 2 such as the Summoning keyword. MAN, would that open up doors

Had not thought about Instinctive Actions covering for the summon's lack of OAs. Neat!

I see some opportunity attacks and interrupts, but no instinctive action? Not sure why it should be exclusive to Druid summons. Hopefully there will be some in arcane power.

Well, as pointed out, the instinctive reaction replaces OA's for the Druid's summoned creatures, and I think for flavor reasons, instinctive actions will be unique to creatures summoned by Primal powers, which appear to be primarily natural creatures.

I *like* the fact that there are going to be several classes with summoning powers, but they'll still have just a tad of mechanical distinction.

I'm not a huge fan of the tribal feats -- persuading Ed to take a feat because Bill also took that feat is a little...limiting, I guess, in my eyes. But it's harmless and it's good for those who want it, so other than personal preference, there's no hate for 'em.

I am very happy to seem summoning making a return to the game.
