Catacombs of the Demi-Lich
Level 1 adventure
Children must stay indoors at night, lest the skeletons take their eyes.
The players are a small band of mercenaries hired by the townsfolk of Morvill to investigate a supernatural problem they have been having.
Roving gangs of skeletons wander around at night stealing peoples eyes.
Shady looking outsiders from the city don't seem to bothered. Cloaked travelers can often be seen outside waiting in dark allyways.
An elderly woman points the adventurers towardthe ancient catacombs and gives them this piece of advice:
"The Lich's heart and mind are in his left finger."
The adventurers will find that the catacombs are shaped like a giant skeleton.
The Skull Garden
The first room the adventurers will find themselves in is shaped like a giant skull. There are three doors through the "mouth" and two fountains that represent the eye-sockets.
I want to have two undead monsters, each with a single large eye, lurking in the fountains. These two monsters will pop out when a character tries to pass between them. I want both of them to be big and brutish and they should be able to heal each other. The players should be able to handle this encounter at level 1. Any ideas for how I could do this?
Door #1 takes players to the 'west wing'. Door #3 takes players to the 'east wing'. Door #2 takes players to the 'south wing.
The East and West Wings
Narrow corridors will take players to rooms shaped like hands. Each of the 'finger tips' will have a coffin in it. All of these coffins except for the ones in the 'ring fingers' will contain a skeleton enemy. Each skeleton will have two silver coins in its eye-sockets.
The ring finger coffin in the East Wing contains a green vial with two eyes floating in it. This is a fake phallactory that releases poisonous gas when smashed.
The ring finger coffin in the West Wing contains a vial with two small similarly shaped organs floating in it. A successful nature check will reveal that these are testicles. This is the true phallactory. This is the "heart and mind" that the old woman was referring to. Smashing this vial kills the Lich instantly.
The South Wing, Room #1
This room is lined with pews representing the skeleton's rib-cage. Each row of pews will have two skeletal archers that pop up and shoot arrows. The pews can be used for cover.
Again, the skeletons have silver coins in their eye-sockets.
There is an altar at the front of this room with a door behind it.
The altar has a golden chalice and other items that can be stolen. These items have no effect but they are worth a bit of money.
The South Wing, Room #2
This room, shaped like a pelvis, seems to be a laboratory of some sort. Eye-balls are kept in large jars and boiled to make some kind of magical brew. The finished product is poured into small phallic vials with heart symbols painted on them.
If any male character drinks the potion from these vials, they will get an erection for the rest of the day.
A bookshelf against one of the walls will have some spells for the wizard. The bookshelf can slide out to reveal a safe. Opening the safe will reveal lots and lots of money. I'm not sure what the exact amount should be. Should the safe have a trap?
I'm wondering if this room should have a monster encounter or not.
The South Wing, Room #3
This room, shaped like male genitals, contains only a single coffin in the phallic corridor. Opening this coffin awakens the Demi-Lich.
This undead wizard wears skin tightly stretched around its bones and a tieflings skull over his crotch.
You can talk to this Lich a little bit before he starts blasting away. If you do he will reveal his diabolical plan to steal peoples eyes to make fertility potions to sell on the black market.
If you posess only the Lich's true phallactory, he will be in your control. If you posess the Lich's fake phallactory, he will try to bluff you into smashing it and releasing the poison gas.
If players do not have the true phallactory, they should still be able to defeat this boss. This should not be a true Lich, but a Demi-Lich created as a sort of apprentice to a more powerful being.
Any ideas how I could make this work?

Fixed, for spelling.
OK, so what do you think? How can I go about refining this?
