Please, please, please be more liberal with spoiler tags!

Hello everyone, just a call out to those asking about or replying to content in an adventure module or campaign that has "DM eyes only" stuff in it.

PLEASE, PLEASE use spoiler tags more often.

I have seen two threads this evening that I would have liked to have seen tags, that didn't reallly have spoiler type thread titles, but follow-up posters put very specific adventure content in the thread.

I know it's all in an effort to aid the OP, but try to remember to black out or use spoiler tags for the content that can be read at a glance.

I am fortunate that my players honestly honor these tags when they apply to something that they THINK will be in my F2F or online games, but it sometimes sneaks up on them, and they feel dirty that they know what's coming up. :)

Don't just set the font color to black. That doesn't hide anything for those of us who use a non-default skin.

[ spoiler ]Use spoiler tags like this (but remove the spaces).[/ spoiler ] It works on all skins.

Very good point. As usual, it's about me, me, me. :p [OK - I hope not...]

Also sblock is your friend, to make nifty spoiler blocks, like this

[sblock]See, nobody reads this secret stuff in here!

It is particularly good for cases when there is one or more paragraphs of text that you want to hide
[/sblock]

Of course, the other approach is that the title of a thread can have [ spoilers ] or [ no spoilers ] added to it, which can be very helpful for people who want to make sure they don't stray into a thread they should do.

And then hope that nobody reads the threads via email. The emails that get sent out for subscribed threads do not include the spoiler tags. All spoilers are quite visible.
