Not a power feat, but I rate it above average on the cool factor. Its very easy to get, and can be used for serious style.

Massive brawl breaks out.

Guy walk over to patron. Excuse me sir, can I borrow that shoe?

Edit: Actually, I just reread it, and it says its only for weapons.

BAH!!! That stinks, its much less cool now:(

It's come in handy a few times when I've used it with a Halfling's thrown-weapon bonus.

It might also be nice for a fighter type, who gets lots of feats.

Otherwise, it doesn't seem all that useful to me.

But I do agree with the fun factor! :)

Dang this is one of the best feats. Take it, fast draw(usually moot with the haversack), point blank shot, rapid shot, precise shot, weapon focus and specializaiton and you can rock. The big limit why I only put it at above average is that throw is a cheap+1 enhancement for your weapons. I personally prefer scimitars or falchions for the big crit range.

Average. It's not a very impressive feat mechanically but it is cool. And it could come in quite handy depending upon the situation.

Plus it'll let you throw shortswords like Steven the Irish guy did in Braveheart. Or you can throw scimitars or even greatswords if the need arises. . . .

How do you rate exotic weapon prof then. I see it as roughly the same power level in that it usaully bumps your damage dealing method(thrown weapons in this case) up one level maybe even two. So instead of having an exotic throwing axe doing 1d8x3 crit(oh two boosts crit and damage)you instead throw battleaxes.

On top of that it's cool, and somewhat useful for someone who is building on non-throwing weapon based character.

The somewhat cool and useful for even those not designed aorund it factor bumps it p a bit past exotic wepaon prof for me so above average and cool.

I have to admit that I wasn't thinking of a throwing weapons character when I posted that. On the other hand, a throwing weapons character is not usually the most efficient ranged combatant so I don't think it would get the power rating. (Although, thinking about it, a fighter/barbarian missile weapon specialist built to throw dwarven waraxes might have something going for him). A character might begin to have trouble carrying enough battle axes to do the whole rapid-shot with high BAB for 3 (or more) attacks a round. At least for more than one or two rounds.

I was evaluating from this latter perspective. Looking back I think I may have underestimated the feat.

Hey, it is cool!! What makes it much better ha many otherfeats (why take toughness anyway??)

an ok feat, very cool feat, makes for an above average feat!!! (had a paladin who was going to take it, he was kind of the arsenal.... hehehe)

If a DM was kind, he/she might let you use the feat to throw ANYTHING. It would be really cool then. Think the most recent version of the Mummy, not the sequel. When Brendan's character threw that chair. That was greatness.
