Keep the crime simple and the reasons why the criminal's identity isn't obvious equally simple.
Maybe it's just me, but from a writing/designing standpoint "why the criminal's identity isn't obvious" isn't simple to create.

It's amazing fun to DM the game without knowing what the focus of the campaign will be a couple sessions down the line.
Quoted for truth.

As long as sufficient numbers of rampaging dinosaurs are involved, of course. There's never too many rampaging dinosaurs.

OK, you keep mentioning things like that that happen in your main Barsoom campaign, and then you don't update your story hour since... what, November? Get on the ball, man!

In the words of omokage upthread: "Writing is not talking about writing. Writing is not thinking about writing. Writing is writing. You have to do it to get it done."

The advice never claimed that coming up with idea would be simple, simply that you shouldn't come up with an overly complicated idea: "Keep the crime simple and the reasons why the criminal's identity isn't obvious equally simple."

Yeah, yeah.

I actually got started on a new Stewardesses entry which will hopefully complete THAT tale. And I'd really like to wrap up my Dead Man's Chest tale, but that's not going to happen anytime soon.

And there's also the second chapter of Barsoom Tales that needs a start-up. I know the opening scene, I think, but I haven't got any words on file yet. Writing chase rules and what not occupies too much of my time...

So yeah, agreed, writing is writing. But um, what about hoping to write? Does that count?

:heh:
