Good pod, as always. I listen every week. I'm curious about something PJ said re: the the art being more 'cutesy' now. Why do you think that is? WotC must do market research and all that sort of thing. Why is that sort of softer art more desirable in D&D books? How do they decide what to use? Any ideas?

Fashions and styles change. It'll be different again in another decade. 1980s TV shows and clothes and cars and, hell, people don't look like current ones--same goes for everything. I don't think it's any more complex than that.

Yeah, maybe. But it's a chicken and egg sort of question: does the art attract eyeballs, or do the eyeballs want certain art? I'm curious about how they figure out what to use.

Why didn't 1980s D&D book art not look like the Bayeux Tapestry?

The real question is, why don't you understand that you're your dad complaining about the music you liked when you were a teenager because it didn't sound the music he grew up with? How is this not blatantly obvious? Why is this not the first time I've said this to you?

Because you are so pleasant to chat with, I just couldn't avoid this conversation and remain emotionally whole? Just a question, big guy. Sorry for conversing.
