[Podcast] Chainmail Bikini

Did that Chainmail Bikini title get your attention? Yes, we are not above cheap marketing ploys. But the title does have relevance, even if the Accidental Survivors do not. The newest podcast episode from the modern gaming podcast focuses on women and gaming, and even includes -gasp- a woman gamer. So come on by. Don't forget to bring your preconceived notions, stereotypes, and sense of outrage.

So, Rob is going to pose in a chainmail bikini for the episode spread?

Nice show. Enjoyed Melodie's research and insight. I'll second the lack of exposure/marketing and the effects of socialization (both among peers and from top down) as reasons why there are not more female gamers, but I'm glad that the numbers are growing.

Chicks can roll dice too....:)

Ack! The horror, the horror!

Excuse me while I drive an ice pick through my eye in order to remove that sickening mental image.

It would be such a gold mine if someone could cash in on it. In the Ryan Dancey interview at Fear the Boot (it's another podcast) there was a a lot of talk . . okay, there was some talk about the future of RPGs and marketing and such. It sounded like WotC wasn't willing to gamble on anything outside of traditional marketing to its traditional segment. Really, someone has got to try something. WW broke down a lot of barriers back in the day, but there's plenty more to do. Who's got the cake to do it, though? The ones who do seem to be the most gunshy.
