We know a little bit about the 4E pantheon...new hotness, old favorites, that sort of thing. But nobody has said much about the rules for godliness in the game just yet, and my curiosity is piqued.

What "godly" elements of the game would you like to see changed in 4E? How would you change them if you were on the design team?

Personally, I would like for the domains to be a little more important...unless you are playing a cleric, they have no bearing on the game whatsoever. I'd like to see something done that would make the domains relevant for all classes.

I'm not sure how my views fit your poll.

I would prefer the following for *all* deities in 4e:

NAME
Background/Mythology
Beliefs
Worshippers/Clergy

That's it. No stats at all.

Yeah, I forgot to include an option in the poll with words to the effect of "we don't roleplay gods at all at our table." Because I realize that in most games, gods aren't the sort who walk around and talk to people. My bad.

In my game, religion is pretty important and the gods are much more involved in the fate of the characters. So...yeah. We love the stats.

Roleplaying a god does not require stats.

Agreed completely. Nothing else.

Count me in on "gods don't need stats." Eberron's handling of Gods suits me perfectly... if you believe in gods, it's a matter of faith rather than objective proof.

Stats are for avatars and aspects.

Thirded.

I've never seen a D&D game where the players played nor wanted to play gods. I've also never seen anyone play Nobilis, but I guess these are just my experiences and not necessarily indicative of anything else.

:p
