Lois McMaster Bujold (the Chalion books and the Sharing Knife books)
Yay! I love her books! (well, all except one of her Miles Vorkosigan saga)

Ursula K. LeGuin is also missing. Orson Scott Card also ventured into fantasy once (Seventh Son etc.)

I definitely read a lot more SF than fantasy but I've still read something from most of the authors in the poll. I didn't like all the books I've read, though...

Moorcock was one of my early favorites.

LOL this has become a thread of what books has the OP never read. :)

Perhaps the OP can take the suggested names, take the names in the back of the AD&D DM Guide, add them all together, and make 3 polls with the same names on each so there can be a real basis of comparison? Say ages less than 25, 26-35, and 36 and older? making it non-anonymous like the first one would be interesting too.

I haven't read all of the list. Some I haven't even heard of. I've also read Zelazny, Kay, Wolfe, Burroughs, McCaffrey, McKillip, Moon, Bradley, Bradbury, King, White, Goodkind, Williams, Cherryh, Hambley, Crowley, Rohan, Wells, Feist, LeGuin, Lawhead, Godwin, Keyes, C.L. Moore, Warner, and Holdstock.

Is there a max to poll options? At a quick count, I see 42 options already there, and more than that mentioned as missing. Pretty quick I could see these polls reaching over 100 options.

And I bet by the third post of that thread someone will ask "Why didn't you include X?". :)
