I know this site and associated publications involve considerable expense and effort; and I don't begrudge some degree of advertising.

But the pop-up ads that expand browser margins are REALLY intrusive and toxic. As in, enough that they make me want to leave this site altogether.

I'm getting pop up ads that completely block the site on my phone. Started a couple days ago. Is this expected behavior?

They have gotten noticeably worse on mobile especially. Back in October it was ok for me to use mobile. Now, I use it only rarely.

I am having that problem now too.

The add follows doubleclick .net to a "Navy Credit Union" or some such.

The add blocks everything, even while entering text into a post. It is highly disruptive, shows up randomly, and can show up repeatedly in short succession.

I was wondering if it is malware, and if others are experiencing this add problem.
