This type of poll is run relatively often; the top three as "FR - PS - GH" is a constant. If you had put Ravenloft, I think it would have been somewhere around Dark Sun and Dragonlance. :)

Well From what I've seen of the Iron Kingdoms it would be that setting....however Forgotten Realms comes in at a VERY close 2nd

Let me get this straight... your Handle is Gundark and you didn't vote for Ravenloft!! That's just wrong man.

what do gundarks have to do with Ravenloft? they're a predatory animal from the Star Wars universe. ;)

Nah, I didn't mean that. Some repeated threads are annoying, but I find it interesting to see how the setting preferences evolve over time; additionally, now we have Eberron to gauge and it's interesting to see that it's already racked a few votes. I posted mostly to reassure adembroski3 about Ravenloft's probable position.

Besides, I always hope that Planescape will surpass FR. ;) :p

(And yeah, I know that these boards have an unusual concentration of Planescape fans).

Darksun!

I took a break from D&D for roughly 15 years (from around 1985 until 3e came out). During that time, there were a few settings that almost made me want to play. One was Birthright (I loved the realm level concept of play), another was Planescape (always been a fan of planar adventures). The third was Darksun.

The reason I voted for it, was that Darksun was the only setting that I bought (even though I knew I was not going to be playing it using the 2e rules). I even ran a short campaign with the setting, but using the Over the Edge game system. Everyone loved the setting and had a great time with it. I most liked the way they re-imagined the races, added psionics at a basic level, and made the environment such a major part of the campaign.

Great stuff. Wish I could get my current group to go for a 3e version of Darksun...

Oh, and the more I read of Eberron, the more I like it. It will probably become one of my favorite settings...

I voted "Other" for Known World/Mystara/Blackmoor. It's a classic, no matter what incarnation.

Of course, with it being a largely stagnant setting these days (and one I've games in consistantly for 10 years), I'm kind of burnt out on playing and DMing in it. Iron Kingdoms looks really interesting, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the actual setting book.

Beyond that, I really like the IDEA of Dragonstar, not so much the execution. It has promise.

I voted other non WotC/TSR - Judges Guild Wilderlands of High Fantasy, I find it hard to believe I'm the first to vote for this!

My top five are:
Wilderlands
Al-Qadim
Blackmoor
Hollow World
Greyhawk
