Kantian ethic and his imperative are nice concepts but I prefer to keep it more grounded than that. Of course, I also impose a 'Neutrality Before Faith' edict universally amongst agents of the divine to keep agents of the gods from 'killing/harming' based solely on one's deity or alignment. This is ironically an advantage for the chaotic and/or evil characters as they typically require 'less' motivation to kill or harm.
