Blood and Death!!!

Come and Die whoresons!!

It is a good day to die.

Cowards die many times, before their death, the valiant never taste death but once. - Julius Caesar.

To seek, to strife, to find and not to yield - Ulyesses(sp)

Yeah though I walk in the shadow of death I fear no evil.

For Paladins, I apply a Kantian ethic and an universal imperative for them. It just fits more in my opinion.

Of course, I also impose a 'Neutrality Before Faith' edict universally amongst agents of the divine to keep agents of the gods from 'killing/harming' based solely on one's deity or alignment. This is ironically an advantage for the chaotic and/or evil characters as they typically require 'less' motivation to kill or harm.

Kantian ethic and his imperative are nice concepts but I prefer to keep it more grounded than that. "I am a Paladin, I pledge fairness to all, to uphold the good, protect the weak and innocent and vanquish all evil. Mercy is my left hand, Righteousness my right."

My mistake; the code is from Gene Autry.

Gene Autrys Cowboy Code:

1. The cowboy must never shoot first, hit a smaller man or take unfair advantage.

2. The cowboy must never go back on his word or a trust confided in him.

3. A cowboy must always tell the truth.

4. A cowboy must be gentle with children, the elderly and animals.

5. A cowboy must not advocate or possess racially or religiously intolerant ideas.

6. A Cowboy must help people in distress

7. A Cowboy must be a good worker

8. A cowboy must keep himself clean in speech, thought action and personal habits.

9. A Cowboy must respect women, his parents and the nation's laws.

10. The cowboy is a patriot.

If you want a paladin's code, you should probably check the next best thing. From The Order of St. John of Jerusalem (the Knights Hospitaller, et al)
  • Thou shalt obey the Commandments of Almighty God.
  • Thou shalt believe the teachings of the Holy Church and obey all her admonitions.
  • Thou shalt defend the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church.
  • Thou shalt love the Country of thy birth.
  • Thou shalt be forever faithful to our Sovereign Order and thy Brothers in Saint John.
  • Thou shalt never quit the struggle or surrender to the enemy.
  • Thou shalt lead an unceasing and uncompromising war against the infidel and every ungodly force.
  • Thou shalt not lie, and thou shalt stay ever true to thy word.
  • Thou shalt be generous and charitable.
  • Thou shalt show regard for our weaker kinsmen and defend them.
  • Thou shalt always and in all places be a champion of good and justice against evil and iniquity.
  • Thou shalt do all in thy power to preserve the True Faith and build a Christian Civilization.
