Post-Apocalyptic Settings

Insight

Adventurer
I'm looking for a list of the major published Post-Apocalyptic settings, mostly ones that would either be completely fluff (and therefore portable to any rules set) or compatible with the rules from D20 Modern / Future and their offspring.

Thanks

Major published settings with lots of fluff plus a foundation in D20 Modern?

Darwin's World 2; Actively supported with new material.
Gamma World; no longer supported with new material.

There are a handful of minor ones out there.

:D Year of the Zombie, for zombie apocalypse.

I have Earth AD2 and it totally rocks.

Actually, while Year of the Zombie does focus on zombie apocalypse, you can easily use the information contained within the core book to help build a post-apoc society. If any thing, YotZ is more of a study of human survival than anything else.

Lots of good stuff in that book. I've used it whenever I've designed a post-apoc campaign.

Yup, and there are some supplements for it as well. I should also mention I really like Darwin's World.

Really, you can't go wrong with any of the suggestions.

I would recommend:

Darwin's World (I'm totally biased- I was a fan of this setting BEFORE I started working for the guys who put it out- but since now I do work for them, well, I *said* I was totally biased).

YotZ is awesome. Hardcore.

Earth AD2 was really cool as well. I love the PIG games and have several of them.

Gamma World: Again, I'm totally biased. They took the greatest post-apoc game world ever created, a game known for its awesome (though totally quirky) fluff and wonky rules, and then replaced it with a much less interesting world that also had wonky crunch (just wonky in different ways).

If it hadn't been called GW, I probably would have loved it, but it was. If your brain wasn't infected by GW 1st edition in the 70's like mine was, your mileage will probably vary.

If I might make a suggestion, Whisperfoot from these forums (Darrin Drader, former freelancer for WotC and writer for d20 Apocalyse) has started the www.aftermathrpg.com forums, which discusses Apocalyptic RPG gaming. May well be worth trying out!

I thought the d20 Apocalypse book was pretty good. I don't own a lot of d20 Modern stuff but I was pleasantly surprised with it. Lots of campaign options and a good mix of crunch and fluff.

Yes, I joined Aftermath a while back, but their forums don't get a lot of traffic. Thanks for the suggestions thus far!
