Post count- whats the big deal?

Post counts don't matter to me now that I am BACK with the warm embrace of En World!

When EN crashed last year there was a bunch of people that seemed annoyed they they had lost numbers, more so then threads that were lost. It just seems odd.

When EN crashed last year, I lost over 900 posts - the vast majority of which were in House Rules, in which I was well known. Really, I was kicked in the shorts in regards to creativity - I had even, in the week previous to the crash, posted up a thread on a new homebrew I haven't touched since (because I lost all three pages of it), and in fact it's only been in the last couple weeks I've gotten back into House Rules and rekindled my love of tinkering. I got depressed over how much of my hard work had been lost.

While I went on (like others) about how I lost so many posts, I was thinking about what I posted, not just simply the number which appears under my username and my supposed "loss of rep" or some silly thing like that.

Considering I was trying for nigh on...5+ years, I think epic is worth while to me.

Lanefan - the level points that we talk about are with 1 post=1XP by the D&D 3e scale. So, 1000 posts makes you 2nd level, 3000 gives 3rd level, 6000 gives 4th level, etc. See your PHB for more details.

Post count is one way of measuring your contribution to the community.
