The ad below is from the back of the June 1980 issue of Fantastic Film magazine. It was my first exposure to D&D and instrumental in my interest in the game. Glad I kept it

This is the comic that made me want to go to the book store and buy Dungeons & Dragons books. I didn't know anyone else who gamed, I saw that ad, bought some books, and recruited some friends to play.

Me too. There are a couple more of them, but those ads where it for me. After that and finally finding where they were sold I was hooked.
