Post your Big Bads...

...you're favorite home-made arch-villians {or meddlesome, uncorruptable saints}, you're Saurons, your Lex Luthors, you know, your favorite antagonists that you've antagonized you're players with for hours/weeks/years on end.

I'm finally gearing up to restart my stalled campaign, and I'd looking for a little inspiration.

Hmm...can't find the stats for this guy, but the current BBEG in my campaign(that the PCs just happened to meet...he was running :D), is a Drow Fighter 2/Rogue 3/Assassin 10/Divine Champion of Tiamat 5. Dangerous little guy. :D

Don't worry about the stats blocks... I'm really interested more in character...

What's his name, goal, signature player-infuriating trick, plot, tick? Does he have a handlebar mustache, an ex-wfie, an ideology that drives him?

Gifrac leader of the darkehorde..
he is a leveled pit fiend that wants nothing more than to annex my homebrew world as a new layer of hell and to set himself up as its ruler by impressing asmodeus... so far no one has caught on to his plan as he is working with a lich named mersethus the undying....and everyone seems to think that he is the greater threat, and no one notices the lowly summoned "servant"

Spike, if you're reading this, stop now.

Now.

I mean it.

BUGGER OFF!

Okay, I think he's gone.

My campaign has 4 main badguys actually. They're a group of former gods (if you kill a god in my campaign world, they're simply trapped. Once they're released, they're mortals again though still quite powerful by mortal standards.) known as the Cruel Quartet. Their leader, an Anti-paladin named Straddin, is literally the root of all evil (he's very old, in fact he was one of the first gods to ever be birthed. He was, in his eyes, mistreated by his fellow gods and the anger he felt stewed in him for a long while, until it was birthed as the force known as evil) The other three are Morvann, the god of despair; Satsujinki the god of murder and undeath (which every group of evil gods must have), and Blaat the goddess of blight. Their plan is to retrieve 13 artifacts, which must be possessed by anyone who wishes to absorb the divine sparks which were left behind by them when they "died."

I have several villains in my world that you may be interested in. My campaign has been going for almost a year now, and most of the party has reached 15th level. I think the descriptions will be more useful than the stat blocks, so that's what I've included.

Thanatos: A wyrmling red dragon wizard. He's part of a lich's magical experimentation. He's extremely smart (Int 22), and uses his magic to cover his weaknesses and augment his strengths. He has an annoying habit of retreating when he's losing and coming back better prepared for the next meeting.

Rake: Honorable, psychotic ranger. He's a noble, and extremely rich. He was bored with the standard trophy hunting, and started hunting sentient humanoids. Groups of harvesters kidnap people for him and bring them to his island. He treats them to a nice dinner and conversation, then hunts them the next day. He has a 10 year old child who is the only true joy in his life since his wife disappeared.

Dethel: A shrewd, selfish, power hungry eighteen year old, he was always jealous of his older brother who would assume the throne one day. He struck a deal with a vampire that helped him assume the throne. He arranged to have his father and uncle captured and turned into vampires under his control. Later, he let his brother rule the country for one day, then wrested power from him, uncovering his illegitimate heritage.

Sky: A mature adult blue dragon who exacts tribute from the desert city of Ariad and anyone who comes by her oasis. She has been doing this for the past 200 years, since she was a wyrmling. Because of this, is interested less in the intrinsic monetary value of things and more in unique magic items and things of beauty, like sapphires. Those who speak with her must show her the utmost respect or she kills their camels, takes their water, and chases them into the desert with her dragonfear and leaves them to die.

I hope this helps. I have a few others I could describe for you if you're interested.

BBEG

Mereth- an evil warior whose only desire is the destruction of all life he encounters. He partners with an evil titon named Drathius, together they have brought destruction to many lands.
The players have been tracking them for several months now, following in thier wake of death. Behind them they leave evil minions to ensure that the havok they have sewn remains, so far this has been a variety of evil monsters and demons/devils.
Mereth has been using the souls he has been harvesting with Drathius to perform evil magic rights, infesting the land they have been to with evil magic. The players sometimes find that the very land itself rises up to stop them in thier quest to halt the wave of destruction.

I don't want to give away too many details, because I know I have at least one player who lurks around here, but BBEGs current active in our campaign include:

The Deathless One, a lich so powerful that the best the church of Pelor could do was imprison him (at least until he duped the PCs into setting him free).

A champion of Hextor known only by the divination-revealed description, "A living engine of destruction."

Lord Naga, master of the land of the jikiniki, a race of undead ghoul-like creatures. The party has faced these creatures once, (barely) defeating a jikiniki samurai.

The patriarch and matriarch of the Graben clan, a family of undead followers of Vecna who escaped from their island home, stealing the PCs' ship in the process and leaving the PCs marooned.

The BBEGs soon to be faced include Queen Umbra, mistress of Entropia on the Plane of Shadow, and Tatilius, a devil captain in charge of a squad of fiendish hobgoblin cavalry, who is allied with Umbra.

Puzzletongue and Wretched Fly: A pair of fey touched assassins set to kill the party while they were low level. During the attempt Puzzletongue died and Wretched Fly got away. After that night Wretched Fly swore to avenge his dead brother; he assumed his brother's name and started gaining levels in Ghostwalker. He has since spent the last ten levels following the party, killing their cohorts, and for a brief stint, he was disguised as one of their guildmates. He has used his ethereal and shadow walking abilities to leave taunting notes to the PCs.

BBEG

Mine is an extra-planar dragon who was present when the world was formed and has been steadily corrupting it to his ends since then. He goes by many names (Adkharis, Adhean-Sol, etc). His body is encased in a giant membrane under a titanic stronghold (although this is known only to a few individuals on the planet; the stronghold hosts a city, and only said individuals know he resides underneath the edifice). He is continually spawning insectile parasites which he can use to infest people and bend them to his will. He also has older and more powerful spawn, such as types of hydras, wyverns and more traditional dragons. There's more to his plans than this, but I'm a little worried that my players might read this thread. ;)
