Power Cards or Sheets?

Quick poll: do you prefer using power cards, or do you prefer all the powers written out on your character sheet?

For myself, I prefer the character sheet, strangely enough, as do a few of my players. Others prefer the (tactile?) power cards.

I voted 'cards', but what I'm finding is that having cards for encounters & daily powers and at-wills on the sheet works best. That way, I can track usage by discarding. At low levels anyway, just about everything that's effectively at-will (including basic attacks, class abilities, skills, etc.) fits on a single sheet. (I haven't gotten to higher levels, so it might break down later).

I would prefer on the sheet it’s self, but there isn’t enough room to write it all out, so copy down all of the powers onto a separate sheet of paper. I honestly only look at a 4ePHB once a level that way.

Prefer to scratch it out on the sheet. Easy as can be. Tried cards, but it was just more clutter at the table.

Incidentally, the official character sheets are horrible, IMO. I can see why you would need cards in that situation. For 4e, I find a piece of college-ruled loose leaf paper works best, just like back in the day.

I created my own "combat" sheet in Illustrator to go with the conventional characte sheet. It's made it a lot easier at the table. I tried Power cards but they ended up more of a mess than just having all the information in one place - they didn't exactly feel right either.

Table space is at a premium for us too. I created this 5.5x8.5 character booklet style sheet as a way to clean up the table top. In a lot of cases, you'll only need the cover to play, which is half the size of a regular letter page. The downside is some page flipping.

Sheet for me. Which is why the upcoming 4e BattleBox will include a Character Sheet where you can write down the name and level of your powers, and a Powers Sheet where you can write down the entirety of the power's description, and tick boxes for marking At-Wills, Encounter and Dailies, and to mark off usage.

I'm playing an artificer, so I've been copying and pasting my powers from the pdf to a worksheet. I plan on adding my magic item powers to the sheet using the Compendium.

Nice! I like how you put the skills next to the ability scores. The powers pages are pretty slick too.
