But, speaking as someone from North Carolina, the concept of true sweet tea is apparently nonexistant in the state. Bah!

What part of NC are you from? I just moved here from the left coast, and sweet tea is still something I am getting used to. :)

They've signed a deal with Gary to release 1E as 4E. Victory!

I can dream, can't I?

That got me thinking. Maybe they signed a deal with the Tolkien estate and halflings will become Hobbits again just like back in the early days.

Wow, you just named all of my favourite companies. I'd be down with that. :) The big surprise for me would be the inclusion of Sword Sorcery Studios - I thought they were finished.

I can understand why they would restrict the splatbooks - once WotC releases an equivalent product, the 3rd party sourcebook tends to stay on shelves. Wizards wants products that complement their lineup, not fragment it. Third party race and class books have a heavy presence in the discount bins right now.

I guess the question is - what about a 3rd party product that is *better* than the WotC equivalent or for which there *is* no equivalent? I'm think of the Bruce Cordell psionics stuff, MMS:WE, etc.

As a born-and-bred Tennesseean who just moved to Seattle six months ago, the pain of losing real honest-to-goodness sweet tea is still fresh for me. Thank heavens I've spend a few days back in the South on vacation.

Actually, there's an awesome Indian place within walking distance of the convention center. More food variety in Indianapolis than you'd think.

Montana Mikes...you have to go all the way to Columbus for it, but its there. Actually, its making a slow climb north thru the state.

I think my speculation hinges on whether Morrus really doesn't know what it's about, or he does and can't say due to an NDA (which itself may be NDA-ed). Morrus, blink once for the former, twice for the latter... ;)

I'm...skeptical about the idea that it's about 4E. Like others have said, I think it would be a big announcement, and not all smoke and mirrors.

My personal thought is that it has to do with licensing and branding, especially in the face of the DI and all the licenses being pulled/unrenewed. Particularly, my thought is that with Gleemax and the DI, the one on one with Morrus is to discuss where ENWorld fits in that. Particularly, it will address the topic if ENWorld will be allowed to continue advertising itself as a D&D/d20 website (yay trademarks). Also of interest will be ENP and WotBS, as well as the old ENW store, which did pretty good online business IIRC.

Finally, WotC will release the D&D ninjas, who attack anyone who doesn't play the game "right."
