What are your predictions for d&d 2015?

I preeiction a FRCG.

I prediction that the aadevturer's handbook will have Genasi as a race and Janissary as a Paladin subclass.

I predict a restart of the magazines.

I predict Assimar and Elderin will be allowed for Adenturer's legue.

Why would muslim musketmen be the basis for a paladin subclass?

I'd call them ottoman elite slave soldiers of foreign extraction, but more or less the same question.

I predict a fairly good OGL that allows for good third party support, and more interesting licensing.

I really hope for the return of Dragon & Dungeon, perhaps under the auspices of another company, like they were under Paizo and HotDQ was.

A book of options to emulate parts of earlier editions would not surprise me.

I predict a license of some sort that will be generous to third party publishers.

I predict more box sets, maybe a neo-Grey Box instead of a hardback campaign guide for FR.

I predict Genasi, Azurs, Aarocka (sp?) as races in Elemental Evil, and Elementalist Sorcerers, Oriental Adventures style elemental domain Clerics, Genie Warlicks and/or Binders as a Warlock subclass, and Shair Wizards.

I predict a Manual of the Planes, maybe to tie into the third storyline.

I have no idea what's going to happen next. IMO, 5e is in that tricky "second album" phase - if WotC do it well, then this edition will go down as a classic, but if they mess it up then it could be all but dead in a year.

But they've made a really good start, so I'm more optimistic than I've been in some years.

I predict:

edition wars reignite...

Assimar and Elderin will be allowed for Adventurer's league.

New race/classs stuff in the next book will not be enough to keep people like me happy.

no news on psionics, warlords, or better maneuver system.

no news on in print mags, but maybe 1 on line

new online only character builder that will bomb...

and I don't know if it is a prediction as much as just something that is happening, Trap door tech will announce that it is our fault we don't have a new database/adventure tools because we didn't want it bad enough, when there kickstarter dies

Other posters have already made good predictions. I'd like to add to that, that I do not think we'll likely see a lot of physical published material outside of the already semi-confirmed adventure paths and player options to go with them, I'm afraid. I too expect a good OGL and I do expect the trend of material being out-sourced to 3rd parties (like they are doing with the Elemental Evil adventure path) to continue.

I think online we will see some basic initial support by WotC for the other settings, like stats for the warforged race of Eberron or maybe an article or two with basic psionics for Dark Sun. As well as at least some more news on what to expect in the future. I am not sure if we are actually going to get a Campaign Guide for Forgotten Realms or the other settings, but I do hope so very much.

Considering the next non-adventure path book with player's options, I am not sure, I expect WotC to be hesitant with books covering things like Psionics as it really is a hit or a miss and they need to get it well, maybe even releasing another playtest for material like that, so we'll likely first see a lot of smaller and safer, optional alternative rules.

I predict a Manual of the Planes, maybe to tie into the third storyline.

The new Manual of the Planes is going to be "narrated" with "helpful tips" and other information in boxed text, as spoken by flamboyantly charismatic NPC Latin Gatecrasher hero "Manuel... of the Planes!"

I actually don't think it is likely they'll release a Manual of the Planes, at least not so soon after the launch of 5e.

The DMG already had a lot of information on the planes and traveling the planes usually only happens with higher level player characters and until now the focus of the earlier releases (like in the Monster Manual) has mostly been with lower level characters and challenges, since most people play lower-level campaigns anyway.

I think a Manual of the Planes will come when they start supporting settings like Spelljammer and Planescape, which will likely happen after they've already done Eberron and Dark Sun and settings like that. So it will likely take a few years before we start seeing a Manual of the Planes
