Mystery Investigation Intrigue and Politic
The idea is that solving Mystery and engaging in Politics would be so intrinsic to the setting that it would be impossible to avoid.

Like dungeon enemies should have to be vetted as political enemies and quest would have to be set up by political allies or forced by political enemies in an Political setting.

If WOTC were to design a new setting fully committed to the content and mentality the 2024 version of 5th edition and surveyed you of what type of setting they would create, what would you prefer?

This assumptions are

1) All content in the 2024 PHB are valid for character creation as every class, background, species, equipment, are major aspects of the lore and mechanics of the setting as history, nations, iconic NPCs, and possibly patrons and creator deities.

2) All content in the 2024 MM are expected to exist in some form dead, alive, or imprisoned which could be faced as obstacles using generic 2024 lore or setting specific lore.

3) Noticeable aspects the DMG content could be expected to be used such as parts of the DMs toolbox or Bastions
So i am torn. I want urban and exploratory fantasy, with magitech and a very active spirit world in the mode of East Asian mythology more than Western European mythology, maybe with regions ranging from SWANA to East Asia to SW Asian to Polynesian, influences. And airships.

Something like cyberpunk Kuratowa meets Saladin Amed's fantasy work meets Jim Butcher's Cinder Spires aetherpunk series, with a light but noticable poetic flair a la Guy Gavriel Kay's stories.

Not sure how to vote foe that.

But no matter what i want humans to be just one of many species rather than dominant. I want it to not be primarily Western in theme. I want it to not be grimdark.

Urban Fantasy (mages in the world today).

Other: Near Future (accelerating technology producing magiclike effects, such as wetware telepathy).

With the specification of including everything in the PHB and MM, I think mythic fits best. God, titans, and other great powers are around and active, vying against each other for dominance, and their wars have far reaching consequences for rest of the life forms. The PCs are people who have the potential to become mythic beings themselves, and fight for the protection of mortal kind, or at least to keep them around so they can rule them.

The “other” option I picked, which isn’t incomparable with the mythic idea above, is a world we’re reality is more “loose”. Landscapes can change before your eyes, life forms can transform in to other surprisingly easily, and believing a monster is there can cause it to generate.
