Problem with high level wizards....

It might be worth noting that you can still aid another, bull rush, charge, grapple (well, "grab"), feint, and use total defense in 4e. There are even some new options that all characters can use, like Second Wind and Action Points. None of those things incur opportunity attacks, making most of them at least as good as they were in 3e with feats.

Human ranger 2 / fighter 1. Exotic Wpn: Whip Dagger (1st), Imp Trip (1st), Imp Disarm (2nd), Imp Bullrush (3rd). Close enough.

Not quite. You forgot the prereqs for those feats: Combat Expertise and Power Attack.

Looks like you need another level of FTR and 2 more levels on top of that.

Oh, and once your DM sees how effective your Trip/Disarm build is, you'll never see a magic Whip Dagger evaaaar!!!1! ;)

It would be worth noting...to anyone but aria. ;)

You're making a character?

Why are you playing a game you hate so much? You spend so much time complaining about it, I can only conclude that 4th edition causes you a lot of stress.

How else are you going to prove that a first level character in 4e isn't as good as a 5th level character in 3.5?

Beef them up? Whatever. Once you use up your encounters and dailies, especially at low levels... you're stuck with using the same at-will over and over.
That's still better than it was. Play a low-level wiz in 3E, and by the second fight of the day, you're stuck with the stupid crossbow.

Meh. There are other trip weapons that don't require a feat to use. I just threw together stuff off the top of my head.
Just double checked my 3.5 PHB. Turns out trip weapons don't actually improve your chances to trip your target. They prevent the attack of opportunity and make failure less painful, but they don't help you succeed.

The difference between Cleave and Reaping Strike is laughable. One lets you deal STR dmg to a secondary target. The other lets you deal STR dmg on a miss to the primary target.
I take it you were playing one of the pregenerated characters. With your own characters, you can select powers that feel different from each other, and have two options again. Tide of Iron is solidly distinct from these two "do a bit more damage" powers.
