Ah, if we're getting SPECIFIC on 'hawk requests, I don't really care if it's hardcover, softcover, or boxed set.
I think Living Greyhawk is basically solid, but I'd like a re-release with:
- Dragon maps
- history "fixed" to eliminate the Greyhawk Wars over-the-top aspects.
-- The giants invaded, but did not conquer Geoff and Sterich. It's assumed that some PC's won in "Against the Giants", and that PC actions have consequences in the game world.
-- Iuz co-opted, not conquered, the Horned Society, and had some combo of conquest/alliance/Finlandization with the Bandit Kingdoms. He did conquer the Shield Lands and the Rovers, but all that stuff about taking over Stonehold and the Pale and so on by pretending to be Vatun -- please, drop that story line.
-- Ket and Ull, backed by Iuz and Perrenlander mercs, invaded Bissel, but they didn't win. The war rages on, since Bissel had an amazingly strong standing army (as outlined in the original Greyhawk materials), backed by Keoland-Gran March and Furyondy-Veluna
-- The fall of the Great Kingdom has been exaggerated. It had less to do with "demons stalking the land" and more to do with civil war, and the plague and famine that followed. The descriptions in Living Greyhawk are more or less in the right direction, but exaggerated.
-- Gary Gygax is brought in as a consultant to straightening things out.
A second publication: the "classic" Greyhawk adventures, updated to 3.5 rules. And new adventures.
What I don't want: more crunch. I've got enough rules; I want more stories.
