Products You'd Like WoTC to do

I'd also like to see the planes added to the environment series, starting with planes that haven't gotten much coverage in the past. I'd kill for environment books on the Far Realm, the Plane of Shadow, the Plane of Faerie (if it's non-cutesy) and the Plane of Mirrors (I know the description of it doesn't seem to need much more, but with a native race and a version of it in "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell," I think it could support a longer treatment, especially with mirror magic, magic mirrors and such added to flesh it out).

I'll add to this topic, and every other similar thread as always...

Planescape. Planescape. and did I mention..... Planescape.

I doubt WotC would ever do this though, they seem too occupied with Eberron. The thing that kills me is that this topic has been brought up alot through the years (even with the online petition some time ago) it seems like alot of people enjoyed PS as a setting.

Granted maybe online people dont account for a majority of us, but they took a chance with some other niche/specialty books they have released like Frostburn, Sandstorm, Lords of Madness, Dragonomicon etc. It seems like there is enough interest for at least one Planescape setting book.
I also think that the online community counts for more than some of us (wotc included) think we do.... but that is for another day.

So... yeah.... Planescape!

Dark*Matter D20 (for D20 Modern/Future) - that's at the very tippy-top of my list!

Giant-o-nomicon - Giants are cool, and deserve a book like even the unfocused Aberrations have already gotten!

Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic (Keen!)

Star Wars Episode III (Neato!)

Expanded Oriental Adventures - loved the 3E version, why not update and expand!?

Arabian Adventures - Great idea! Let's see it!

I'm on-board for many of the things already mentioned.

  • Anything Planescape, Spelljammer, Dark Sun, Mystara updated to 3.5.
  • Manual of the Planes II, reintroducing the paraelemental planes and quasi-elemental planes, adding some new interesting optional planes like the Plane of Mirrors and Neth.
  • Manual of the Worlds: Similar to Manual of the Planes, but detailing traveling within planes to alternate worlds, moons, etc.
  • Maztica, Zakhara, and Kara-Tur reintroduced to the Realms.
  • Expanded Epic-Level Handbook: Don't just gather up all the epic stuff updated in other sources, but give it the same "relaunch" feel of the XPH and get it right. Add more flavorful epic content than just more of the same with higher bonuses.
  • Fiend Folio II: I'd have said Monster Manual IV, but I'd rather see a book more akin to the excellent FF than the disappointing MMIII.

More than anything, though, I'd like to see a Lords of Madness-style book on the fiends, including all the remaining unconverted fiends and updating the yugoloths yet again, but this time getting 'em right!

As for Al-Qadim, I recently picked up the Land of Fate boxed set. The rules are so unobtrusive that it could practically be used for any edition.

Really? I'll have to check into that one. Thanks.

Some on the various quasi and para planes would be great.

An Expanded Epic-Level Handbook would be a good deal too if done correctly.

And I do agree about Fiend Folio. Very well done book but on the other hand, I did enjoy MMIII more than MMII.

And a Deomonicon? Oh yeah. Heck, I'd like to see Ed's The nine Layer's of Hell updated to a big tome and have all those weird little devil lords wandering the first layer like Arioch updated for 3.5.

I'd lay down a sizable wager in gold pieces that those fine articles are going to appear in the Dragon Compendium Volume I, nicely updated to 3.5.

Never even though about it, but that might be one of the reasons Erik keeps bringing up Ed's old articles. I mean I love them, but they're old and perhaps not showing their age in terms of imagination, in terms of game mechanics, heck they're showing their age.

I will do happy dance if you're correct.

We'll need to reserve a large dance floor to accommodate all the happy dancers should this prove true. :D

- Greyhawk hardcover. Use the maps from Dragon magazine and make it at least as comprehensive as the FRCS.
Ah, if we're getting SPECIFIC on 'hawk requests, I don't really care if it's hardcover, softcover, or boxed set.

I think Living Greyhawk is basically solid, but I'd like a re-release with:
- Dragon maps
- history "fixed" to eliminate the Greyhawk Wars over-the-top aspects.
-- The giants invaded, but did not conquer Geoff and Sterich. It's assumed that some PC's won in "Against the Giants", and that PC actions have consequences in the game world.
-- Iuz co-opted, not conquered, the Horned Society, and had some combo of conquest/alliance/Finlandization with the Bandit Kingdoms. He did conquer the Shield Lands and the Rovers, but all that stuff about taking over Stonehold and the Pale and so on by pretending to be Vatun -- please, drop that story line.
-- Ket and Ull, backed by Iuz and Perrenlander mercs, invaded Bissel, but they didn't win. The war rages on, since Bissel had an amazingly strong standing army (as outlined in the original Greyhawk materials), backed by Keoland-Gran March and Furyondy-Veluna
-- The fall of the Great Kingdom has been exaggerated. It had less to do with "demons stalking the land" and more to do with civil war, and the plague and famine that followed. The descriptions in Living Greyhawk are more or less in the right direction, but exaggerated.
-- Gary Gygax is brought in as a consultant to straightening things out.

A second publication: the "classic" Greyhawk adventures, updated to 3.5 rules. And new adventures.

What I don't want: more crunch. I've got enough rules; I want more stories.
