Prone and two handed weapons question

I stand corrected. 439.87m it is for a longbow.

I guess there must be something about the way a longbow works that causes unusually high amounts of drag, since it isn't performing anything like as well as it's launch velocity should indicate.

I liked the discussion on the bow.

To get back to my original thought, I think that I will have slashing and bludgeoning two-handed weapons be an additional penalty when prone. The extra complexity is not really an issue with my group, as I continue to strive for a simulation type of game.

That said, I'm likely to change the penalty for light weapons to -2.

So, my new rule will be, from prone, light weapons are -2, one-handed are -4, and two-handed are -6.

The discussion on bows is interesting as well, and I'm a bit loathe to say that you absolutely can't fire a bow from prone. So, longbows will take a certain penalty, and short bows will be two less. The question would now be, should longbows be -6 and short bows be -4, or should longbows be -4 and short bows -2. I think the first option is best, as it jives best with my new house rule, but maybe it should be -8 (long) and -6 (short)? Any suggestions?
