Just for Diaglo :)

Now that the discussion on Ravenloft has died down, let's do The Temple of Elemental Evil. I am not going to rate this one, as I haven't played nor read it.

Other modules so far:
Tomb of Horrors: Majority vote: 8/10 Average Vote: 6.6/10
Keep on the Borderlands: Majority Vote: 10/10 Average Vote: 7.9/10
Castle Greyhawk: Majority Vote: 1/10 Average Vote: 4.1/10
Ravenloft: Majority Vote 10/10 Average Vote: 8.4/10

This was the first module I ever bought and it has some great memories for me. I've run it several times and each time the group I was DMing for loved it. Definately one of the best classic modules IMO.

I am fairly young so I didn't have the chance to play this when it first came out. I purchased as a PDF last year. I haven't run it wholesale, but I like the ideas and flavor in it.

I voted 9, but mainly because of the era I played it in. We were all about kicking the dungeon door down, killing things and taking their loot! This mod provided a great place for this! Of course back then we missed a lot of the more subtle elements of the temple and dynamics that do have a framework in the module, but at the time were ignored. I still like dungeon adventures to this day, just not hugely long ones of the mega scale.

:) Probably a little long for my tastes these days, but it is tempting for old times sake! I have a paper copy of the original and the PDF, don't have Return to though.....

ToEE was one of my first major campaigns as a DM, and I ran it a couple times from the mega-module version.. so some of the errors had been fixed.

Had a blast running it.. and still, some 15 odd years later, remember Mastrix the Magician {who eventually converted the temple to a School of the Arcane and training ground for Palidons}, the Palidon {despite not remembering his name.. the famous deal with IUZ to gain the powers of an Anti-Palidon in exchange for turning on the party},.. and the annoying habit of the group to go through sections backward!
{for those who have not played, many series of rooms were linked, with the mooks seperated from the Boss by a room, and a secret door out the back....the group randomly chose the path that would go past the secret door.. and the Elf Rogue or Dwarven Fighter would notice it... }

Enjoyed the computerized version as a flash back to the game.. even tho the controls got to be annoying.

Have the game in PDF and the notes on conversion from Eric Noah's site..

Anyway.. voted a solid 8... :)

[edit add]
Wasn't this supposed to be a poll from the Diaglo quote of "Ask anyone what my opinion of ToEE is!" In that case I should have voted quite low indeed :D
