Proposed Wager with DracoSuave - Blurred Step

This part of the errata really pleased me. I had playtested Battleminds pre-errata and they were absolutely worthless defenders. This at least gives the battlemind a good way of staying adjacent to his target so he doesn't need to really "spam" a level 2 augment (lightning rush) to have any hope of being an effective defender. It's also another errata update that kills yet another one of my houserules to fix an issue. I had already ruled it to be a free action anyway and look, Wizards just makes that houserule irrelevant.

Okay, so what's the wager for next month?

;)
Well, the next updates are post-Essentials, so I think an obvious one would be, "Old races with extra stat choices." That's a pretty obvious conclusion to reach, though - so I would feel bad winning it :)

Were I to put money on stuff that will be changed, I'd guess Dishearten and/or Mind Thrust - specifically the Aug 2 versions of either.

If Psionic Power weren't coming out in the mean-time, I think that a general change to the power point structure would be best. Since it is, and I doubt they'd want to overhaul every single power from two books, my guess is that these two will receive direct attention of some sort.

Part of me does think it'd be pretty easy to have a one line errata of:

All psionic augments cost 1 then 2 points. Here's the new power point chart.

Even if it would affect 3/4 of the psionic powers in actuality.

Yeah, this is so going to happen. If it doesn't. I will be Disheartened.

Speaking of Disheartened. I'm fairly certain you mean "Dishearten" rather than the Rogue power "Disheartening Strike".

But, yes, I agree these powers both need to be fixed. I'm playing a 14 Psion and I feel really bad that I have never swapped an at-will power because those two powers are so good they never need to be replaced. I even looked ahead. If our game makes it to level 30, I don't believe I will EVER be replacing them.

That's precisely the problem.

I'm actually a bit worried Wizards thinks psionics are a "success", because the Battlemind was worthless pre-blurred step errata, the Psion is utterly broken and the Ardent wallows in abject mediocrity. All of them though have a degree of "abusive" at-wills that can be used to either make them decent (Lightning Rush), broken (Dishearten/Mind Thrust) or just okay (I forget the Ardent one that is a bit spammable).

I do have confidence this will be addressed, Wizards have shown a real dedication to improving the game and fixing issues. I'm just wondering if they will fix the real problem - the highly flawed PP system - without murdering the at-wills entirely that some of these classes actually (ironically) need to be competitive.
