Sage of the Scarred Lands
Well seeing how I'm fairly bored today, and my creativity for the day is pretty much kaput, I was hoping to see who on these lovely boards here who here is a fan of the Scarred Lands or at least some product that has Scarred lands in it. Btw, you can like OTHER settings more. :) I know you kooky KoKers are out there but please, don't hesistate expressing SOME liking for SL. Also I'm willing to have pot shot taken at me, as I know I'm a little...exhuberant in my like. (Btw, arcady if you read this thread, you are MORE than welcome to respond with criticisms. Today I consider you a very DECENT human being.)

Anyway vote, comment flame, do what ever you feel. :) I just like to hear you all comment your like and/or dislike for the Scarred Lands. Don't worry I will not tolerate ANY name calling, snide remarks or any such thing. This isn't the place for it, and I WILL have PC shut it down if it gets out of hand.

Of course I like it. R&R is one of the best 3rd party published d20 system books, and the others aren't too shabby either.

But it could REALLY use a real setting book and players guide, and it is long overdue.

Three more Months Psion. I promise you, there will be a setting book for at least Ghelspad. The HC should alleviate alot of the worry and misunderstanding for the DMs out there. I do think the softback for Ghelspad is a good starter for PCs out there.

But I'm glad you like it. As I said, my creativity today has been shot to hell.

Eventhough I am a born and bred Greyhawker I like SL and have every product the S&S has made for it. It is the best supported setting out there IMO, though KoK has a lot too.

One of my players wants to DM the group in SL and I'm looking forward to that.

Scarred Lands is the first published campaign setting I've used in 20+ years. It's superb - bursting with potential, good themes, well written and innovative supplements, and lots of sneaky nastiness. I have a campaign only for new players, with eight players (seven of them women, five of them new to role playing.) They really like it, and I can't help but agree.

Flame: YOU FORGOT THE "OTHER" OPTION! HOW COULD YOU FORGET %*^%& OTHER!

Really, I've heard of Scarred Lands, so I'm not ignorant enough to vote the third choice, but as I've never purchased any products for it I could not honestly vote either way. So You should have an other or at least a "Not sure" option. And you invited flames :p.

While I prefer using my own homebrew, Scarred Lands is easily the best 3rd party setting I've seen for 3E. Well supported(though I agree, the HC is long overdue), and with a lot of unique takes on D&D tradition. I've bought all the books, and haven't been dissapointed yet.

Hey, what ever happened to the Story Hour for that game? I kept checking back for a long time, but the thread seemed to only be one long joke. I finally decided you had been pulling our legs and gave up. (The seven of eight ratio helped me think you were kidding!)

No joke, but I never had time to do the story hour properly. The players took it over, and were posting it on the old boards; I believe we'll be posting it on these boards as well, as soon as they get dug out of a ailing computer's hard drive. It's a really, really fun game.
