...It's a really, really fun game.

Alright, stop right there! It's torture enough when I at least get the vicarious thrill of reading the great campaigns you guys up in bean town play, but NO WAY are you gonna torment me by saying how much fun it is if I can't read about it! Dammit!

:p

Really, I've heard of Scarred Lands, so I'm not ignorant enough to vote the third choice, but as I've never purchased any products for it I could not honestly vote either way. So You should have an other or at least a "Not sure" option. And you invited flames :p.
Same thing here. Already got a setting. Two, actually. Already having hardly the time to game in those two enough to let the players capture the 'feel', history, and details of those settings. Won't play another not even if I got it for free. Quality does not influence this resolve.

I think the same feeling holds for a lot of people, and that it's the reason for which new settings don't get much attention - see the thread about the "Dusk" setting.

I reall do _like_ scarred lands. It's fresh, exciting, and creative. Has some great crunchy bits that I use.

That said, I can say with almost total certainty that I will never run it. I might one day get to play in it, but I will most likely never run it.

This doesn't speak ill of Scarred Lands, it's just that there are so MANY things to run.

I run my own world most of the time.
I run Greyhawk when I don't.
I run Sov. Stone when I don't run that.
I run Dragonlance when I don't run that.
When I'm in the mood for different, I run Darksun, Spelljammer, Dragonstar, Oriental Adventures, or Birthright.
When I'm not in the mood for DnD, I run Shadowrun. Or Rifts. Or Palladium Fantasy. Or Fung Shuei. Or BESM. Or Exalted. or World of Darkness. or Earthdawn. Or Ars Magica.

It's not that Scarred Lands isn't good, it's just that there is so MUCH good stuff.

Like hell, I do!

Scarred Lands is a well thought out, creative and interesting. It is not the clean, safe fantasy setting of FR, it has grit, teeth and claws.

Just picked up Warrens of the Ratmen sourcebook. :)

Flame: YOU FORGOT THE "OTHER" OPTION! HOW COULD YOU FORGET %*^%& OTHER!

Uhm didn't think it was necessary. I figure it's pretty black and white...*shrugs* sorry Dal, didn't mean to piss you off. I just figured other would mess up the polling process.

Should I run a poll then to see if I should change my polling process then?

Mmm well that's good to know Tsyr. :)

So what I get from at least TWO people is that "Hey I have a setting, I don't want any more!" Then kind of feel. Huh. And here I thought we all just played D&D...*shrugs* Well except Tsyr, he just does RPGs out the butt! :p ;)

Btw, Heyla there Mister Alaric! Good to see you bookstore bud!

I finally got another SL fix. A package arrived today that included The Screen; Champions of Scarred Lands & Vigil Watch :) :) :)

I don't know much about the setting itself, but I think that a lot of the monsters (Moon Cat, the ratmen, their golems, and the Carnival Krewe) are pretty cool, and I use them in my campaigns.

The only thing I have a problem with is the Slarecian thing, although that one language virus could be useful.

I'll never run it as a setting, most likely, but I'll happily steal the crunchy bits from books like R&R - and in my experience thus far, it has good crunchy bits.

Mmmm, *crunch, crunch*

:D

Coolness Sul! :) I hope you get to Burok Torn. It seems many people like it too.

Gnomeworks, would you care to know more about the setting, or just enjoy stealing stuff like Carn here? *Btw, Carn glad you like stealing stuff. I think you enjoy stealing from Burok Torn too! * :D
