Pscionic Feats and Powers

I have been playing a PsyWar for a while as well (level 8 right now) and one thing about them is they are limited as Piratecat noted, but its very heavily influenced by the number of fighters per game day and the ability to read your DM.

My character mainly only uses 30-40hp vigors and expansions in fights with all other powers being situational or being left off to converse power points. This leaves him good for about 3 fights a day. But the capability is there to pull out all the stops and dominate a fight, leaving him weak for the rest of the day. This situational tuning abilty when you know your DMs style so you can use powers in preparation can make them very powerful. Playing with the tuning does make them a very fun class to run and as I'm the only tank Im not overshadowing anyone. :)

They are definately up in the top rung of classes as written, with only the cleric being ahead. Maybe.

Favored Soul has Fighter BAB????? That's new to me. Have I been blind when I read it?

Psywars have only one problem: sooo few PPs.

As long as they have PPs, they can rock the world, without they are still better than most rogues or bards in combats assuming wise feat choices.

I think that the pw is could be better if he have more skills points or better saves could help more the party.
If you run from the fighter to get ready for battle the party lose his tank material and they will pay for your lack of guts dont they.
i understand his BaB, but i dont understand his skills points or base save, that's all
I am playing a pw in group of 3 fighter and i am happy with the results we have no cleric only a flap druid with he wand of cure light wounds.
i am level 4 yeat but i hope that i could mach a fighter without having to run from it, and dimension door at level 10 leaves me behind more 6 levels or about at least 30 game sessions. and a mighty bow gets you far away.
I am want to now if there is a place with new feats for pw or new powers

I really only mentioned the Dimension Door thing because I thought you were asking about a one-on-one fight. Your more specific question, I take it, is "How can my 4th level Psychic Warrior keep up with the 4th level fighters in my party?"

The key thing for a good psychic warrior is having feats and powers that work well together. Which ones did you take?

For comparison, at class level 4, my build has the following feats: Psionic Weapon, Psionic Body, Power Attack and Cleave. Powers: Vigor, Precog (Offensive), Expansion, Body Adjustment.

As with many powerfull classes, in my opinion the PW needs time to hit its stride. It is a little bit weak at level 4, but makes up for it later. I'd suggest with my build that in a surprise situation, I'd simply accept being a little bit weaker than the fighter. Even assuming I never get a power off in battle, I still have the cool ability to heal myself afterwards. If I know the fight is coming (typical dungeon situation: party is about to break down a door) I can give myself 20 temporary hp, catch up on my attack bonus, and get reach. That's a pretty huge advantage, even if it's only some of the time.
