Psionics already are in a lot of games, but they're called magic.

Magic requires a book, scroll, wand,  something to assist with casting, and of course, magic words.

Psionics just require having a brain, and that's all that a lot of magic systems seem to require.

As just another magic type/class, I don't feel strongly.

I'm kind of enamored with the idea of it being an ability you might have based on on rolling really high on your stats, a la AD&D. Not something you choose, but something fate chooses. I also like the idea of it operating in a system very different than regular spell casting, again a la AD&D (though I have no idea how well that particular system works in play, it seems convoluted on paper, but then many things do).

I voted “no” but if I could, I’d qualify it as a “no, but…” answer. I don’t generally want to see Psionics unless they make sense for the setting, though I don’t feel strongly enough to forbid them if someone has a good concept or desire for a psionic character. Psionics just seem a little odd to me in traditional ye-olde-dungeon crawls.

But if the setting is something like Dark Sun or Spelljammer or running around the Planes with Githzerai/yanki, or a setting with mysterious psychic crystal monoliths scattered across the planet, then yes! Please do! Let’s go for it!

What about a Psion/Cleric who solves pronlems with the awesome power of thoughts and prayers
Amazing. I wish this forum tool had either the chef kiss reaction or the drum reaction. This one though - it's like the chef playing the drums. (this pic of swedish chef and animal together is as close as we're going to get...)
