Psychic Warrior: Assist Please

I hope this is the correct forum.

I am designing a 3rd level Psychic Warrior for a game tonight. However I'm having trouble optimizing the character.

Here is the basic key stuff for the character.

Elf Psychic Warrior
Str: 15
Dex: 19
Con: 13
Int: 12
Wis: 12
Cha: 11

Skills
Balance 2 ranks
Concentration 2 ranks
Jump 3 ranks
Perform (Knife Juggling, Violin) 2 ranks
Tumble 3 ranks
Autohypnosis 2 ranks
Stabilize Self 2 ranks

Feats
Point Blank Shot (first level)
Inertial Armor (first bonus)
Dodge (second bonus)
Quick Draw (third level)

Powers
0th- Catfall, Burst, Float
1st- Call Weaponry

I'm wanting this character to become fairly good with ranged attacks. My next feats are going to be weapon focus (dagger or longbow) and then the free weapon specialization.
Is focusing on daggers decent? I know that would give me the bonus both in ranged and melee combat.

Is Inertial Armor worth it?

What about the various moving feats: Speed of Thought, Psionic Charge, Up the Walls?

If I'm mostly a ranged character is Tumble a skill worth having?

What other suggestions would you give for a player interested in a ranged psychic warrior?

At least one rank of tumble never hurt anyone. You sometimes have to get out of a jam.

Inertial armor with a high dex char would be nice I would think.

Tumble is definately useful for getting out of the reach of large monsters for ranged attacks. Inertial Armor is only woth it if you want to not wear armor, a magical chain shirt will overtake the usefulness of the feat before to long. For powers, check out the download ot WotC with extra psionics, it has a 1st or 0 level power called Thrust that doubles the increment of ranged weapons. It's also full of DBZ type powers, like Dimension Strike (DimDoor as a free action, then full attack!) And Psychokinetic Blast (Kamehameha, 5d6 in a l5foot wide line that knocks everyone standing on their butts)

And Up The Walls is just so cool that I would give it to any Psychic Warrior ever I make. :) I'd also work on Ambidexterity and Two Weapon Fighting so you can use a dagger in each hand when your not throwing them. Then Weapon Finesse. Rapid Shot would also be very useful.

Hope that helps.

[Scratch that about Inertial Armor, Eric is right. Forgot about your Dex:) If it gets really high, and with Animal Affinity it will, Inertial Armor is the way to go.]

Inertial armor is worth it if you're planning on going the speed route; you don't want heavy armor slowing you down! Otherwise, best to use the feat for something else and simply buy a chain shirt.

Note that the superb 1st lvl power skate is actually a psion AND a psychic warrior power. It is listed as such under the power description, but not under the psi-warrior power lists. Its exclusion from this list is a typo. Since you're going the way of speed, you may want this instead of call weaponry.

Thanks for the help.

Up the Walls is nice...I'm just unsure if its worth the feats I need to get it...since I'm not planning on getting too close.

I see what you mean with Inertial Armor...I suppose I'll have to decide wether I'm ever going to get armor or not. I was looking at a Mithral Chain Shirt that I would get enhanced with the psionic abilities of Landing and Floating but I suppose if I improve my jump and tumble skills I won't need them.

I forgot about the Animal Affinity power...that may be just the edge I need.

Also, what other feats should a ranged character focus on. Are the base book feats useful? How about some of the other feats in the PsiHB like deep impact?

Where on the WotC sight is this list of new psionic powers? I looked in several sections and could not find it.

If I was going with a ranged psychic warrior...

lvl 1: point blank shot, rapid shot
lvl 2: psionic shot
lvl 3: mental leap

With mental leap and a high jump score, you can double or triple your movement. Scratch it, though, if you're going dungeoneering.

If you are trying to create a "Psychic Archer", check out the current issue(#296) of Dragon Magazine, page 31-33, the Heartseeker. While presented as a arcane prestige class, it can easily be tweeked into a psionic one and works great for a Psychic Warrior since it includes "+1 level" every even level to spells/powers.

Changes:
Requirements:
Knowledge(Psionics):8 instead of (arcana)
Combat Manifestation instead of Combat Casting
Power penetration instead of Spell Penetration
Ability to manifest psionic powers

Skills:
Add Autohypnosis(Wis), Remote View(Int), Stabilize Self(Con). Change Spellcraft to Psicraft(Int).

Greater Enchantment becomes Greater Metaphysical Weapon
Spellgift Arrow becomes Powergift Arrow

Optionally: Bane Missile could allow a choice in enemy like a Ranger's favored foe.
