Psychoblast

Brandon struggled to write some flavor text, before realizing he should just get to the feat...

Psychoblast [Psionic]
You can fill your eldritch blast with your darker emotions, which strengthens the fell power behind it.
Prerequisites: Cha 15+, Eldritch Blast class feature.
Benefit: To use this feat, you must expend your psionic focus.

Your eldritch blast deals an extra 3d6 points of damage. You must decide whether or not to use this feat prior to using your eldritch blast. If your attack misses, you still expend your psionic focus.

I felt that 3d6 would be better than the 2d6 as granted by psionic weapon, or psionic shot, as I think there would be greater synergy between psionics and the eldritch blast, as opposed to psionics and a melee or ranged weapon.

I don't know if you are trying to mix psionics with the warlock, but warlocks by themselves aren't psionic. If you are thinking a charcater is both psionic (iie thru a nother class), then one of the preprequisites should be that the character can become psionically focussed (have 1+ pp).

Also consider that at low level this is quite a blast! Maybe have the extra damage scale with level?

Yes, I'm quite aware that warlocks are magical and not psionic :P

I left the semantics of said language out, because psionic weapon and psionic shot lack that language.

Perhaps leaving it at 2d6 might work better, as it is a ranged touch attack.

Come to think of it, would psionic shot apply to Eldritch blast? If so, psychoblast is unnecessary...

And where does a warlock|incarnate get to obtain psychic focus? I'm doing a soulknife|warlock gestalt myself...

All you need is a power point pool to qualify for [Psionic] feats and, as this has the [Psionic] descriptor, putting in "Prerequisite: power point reserve" is redundant. Any psionic race (elan, gith, kreen, duergar, xeph) automatically qualify for [Psionic] feats, as would anyone who takes a level in a psi-class or who takes the Wild Talent or Hidden Talent feats which grant a power point pool.

That being said, psionic shot would work with eldritch blast - it's a ranged attack.

As psionic shot should be the baseline (in my opinion), this is too good as it's available at 1st level. It may be more niche because it's only eldritch blast, but it's still an extra 50% damage on psi-shot available at the same level. Make it a 3rd level feat and it might be ok.

You already qualify - soulknife grants power points, which is all that's needed to gain psionic focus. (Special addition to the Concentration Skill in the XPH).

You could make it a replacement for the "greater psionic shot," or whatever it's called, since a warlock clearly has no need for a feat making his blast a touch attack.

In addition, your feat would work on blast shapes which don't require a touch attack ( like the cone.)

Added a little more, per bacris & starwed's input.
