PTOLUS - Who has pre-ordered?

Hey all,

How many of you out there have pre-ordered Ptolus and how do you plan to use it?

I'm looking forward to this product, and I'm planning a rather ambitious game once I have it. Once per month sessions (long 8 hours +) with about 10 people (who are all very hard to schedule) so having a giant city is great when people cannot show up for a given session (I expect each one to have about 6 people sohw up). Also, I'll have a game website where a ton of stuff can be done in between sessions (so it will be as much a play-by-e-mail game as a "live" game).

I'm hoping for an in-depth game with lots of activity for the PC's, both as a group and individually.

So, there is the question. Do you plan to run a Ptolus game or drop it into your own world? Will you use the same characters or start a brand new campaign?

Just wondering...

I preordered in January and have been using the Web-based content to run a campaign at the other end of the planet. I'm waiting for the full book to come out before doing anything based in Ptolus itself, but the plan is to give the Midwood characters a reason to head cross-country to the city and run the Night of Dissolution adventure at the very least.

I also have loose plans to run Goodman Games' Legend of the Ripper module set in Ptolus here at ENWorld in a play-by-post game.

I did preorder it, although via my usual German distributor and not the Ptolus website.

Truth to be told, I will probably not use the city in its entirety, but instead use it as an inspiration on how to build fantasy cities of my own...

I preordered it, but honestly, I have no idea what I plan to do with it. I just thought it would be really cool to have and all the neat additional stuff I think just blew my mind away or something. Preordered like in November or some such last year, maybe earlier, I forget.

I may put it in my world, but I don't think the civilization will have been rebuilt enough to be able to drop it in seamlessly.

Mmmm, pbp set in Ptolus. I'll have to think of a cool character concept for that game of yours. ;)

I did, once I was told that there was appropriate Canadian shipping.

I'll be inserting it into my FR game world. I haven't decided whether the current PCs will visit the city or if future PCs will.

I preordered. I imagine I will cannablize it for other stuff, maybe use it as a setting in the future. Right now I am running Eberron and once we leave it I will probablly try something completly diff, so Ptolus is in the far future. Mainly I guess I will read it.

I preordered it as soon as it was announced. I'm planning on inserting it into the Wilderlands somewhere. Should make for an interesting overall campaign setting.

I preordered. It seems like Malhavoc and Necro are the only big-ish publishers outside of WotC to keep the d20 fantasy lifeblood flowing. So I'll stick with 'em.

Hi,

Preordered it just over a week ago. I'm currently running The Banewarrens in Zazesspur (Tethyr, Forgotten Realms) so I've already incorporated bits of Ptolus into my campaign. I intend to use the book to round out Zazesspur more, but probably won't be able to use it as-is.

Cheers

Richard

I preordered, and while I can't see a Ptolus game on the horizon (because of time and scheduling issues with my players...) I'm gonna milk it for what it's worth (content-wise), marvel at its beauty and layout, and just enjoy the product as a well-done fantasy world to read through.
