Publicising Paypal

WotC's bitch
Morrus, since you're on a shameless pimping spree :), have you considered putting the Paypal link in your sig, and/or the ad section at the top of the forum pages? There seem to be quite a few people willing to donate to keep the boards going, so it couldn't hurt to publicise the already-existing way to do this.

Yes, I know there's already a link on the main news page, but that's not where the traffic is, if I remember rightly. Also, I know that the hits to my D&D web page went up when I put the link explicitly in my sig, as opposed to assuming people would click on the vBulletin "home page" button.

Just a thought.

i would rather see a full frontal PR blitz rather than having a few people here and there donate. Better to have a concentrated effort with focused goals rather than just saying:

donate here <insert paypal account>

" a full frontal PR blitz " will only last for so long, maybe a month... Morrus needs something to give him revenue month after month, instead of always having to ask us.
Not that I mind helping out when and where I can, I will where and when I can, but it needs to be more then just a one time thing.

organize it so it WILL last. Put a ad at the top of the pages that say 'contribute here", have his sig reflect where to contribute. Have a sticky somewhere what the benefits of subscription will be, etc. A detailed, and well thought out approach will last allot longer than a simple "Please donate here" deal. It's all about marketing and PR.
