Qs about The Quintessential Fighter.

DISCLAIMER: I am a freelance writer who has worked with Mongoose. In April, Mongoose is publishing a book I authored and I am currently in the process of writing two more for them.

That said....

Personally, from what I've seen of the Mongoose books, they must be paying the reviewers or something.

Comments like this don't just insult a company, they insult anyone who has ever done a review of that company's product. If you don't like a book fine, but comment like yours are the worst sort of juvenile stupidity.

Agreed-- take 20 is just shorthand for "I keep rolling until I get a 20."

It's just a convenience between DM and player to avoid saying, "I roll again. I roll again. I roll again. I roll again..."

Take 10 is shorthand for "I won't waste time rolling at all-- I'll accept the average roll of 10."

ok...

HAHA, this moronic post cracks me up.

I dunno, I think if you have any sort of relationship with the company, you are obligated to mention it in a review.

For a change I agree with Psion. HAving feat let you "take 20" is a clumsy mechanic.

A +10 bonus when they take 10 accomplishes the same thing, and is within the paradigm of the rules.

For two straight weeks it has been sold out here and I've yet to get to see it.
Do what I did: call your local store and have them hold a copy for you. If they refuse to do that consider finding a new local store or at least find out what days they get shipments in.

I'll have to. Ussually, I have no problem finding books. Actually, this is the first book I can ever remember not getting when I wanted it. I went in today cause they get their shipment in today, but their distributor had run out.
