Quarterstaff and TWF

I looked into it a bit and unfortunately it looks like the Quarterstaff got the shaft.

I'm actually considering upping it to 1d10 damage just to make it good enough to be used by 2HD weapon fighters.

No.

They specifically make the distinction of Two-Bladed Fighting and further state you can have one blade in each hand.

The distinction between them being that a quarterstaff is a 2HD weapon, but not a double weapon. No such thing as double-weapons any more I don't think.
 

What about weilding one hammer in each hand? Or heck, a handaxe in each ahnd (since that suits rangers more than two blades IMO)
 

Though the Class Feature is called Two-Blade Fighting, the rules say any one-handed weapon is usable.

And if a ranger player wanted to use a quarterstaff, I'd probably just say it does 1d6 per end and be done with it.
 

I will be adding the trait, Double Weapon to specific weapons in the list and allow them to be used by TWF characters. It's ridiculous to get rid of them. Especially concerning polearms which often require the use of the entire weapon to be effective. Balsa from Seirei no Moribito is a great example of a Spear wilding warrior that kicks ass. I plan on creating more spear/polearm powers to mimic some of the maneuvers she used in the anime series.
 

Carrying two weapons no longer gives you two attacks except in the case of some Ranger powers. Carrying two weapons is now mostly a special effect.

There are no penalties or benefits to using two weapons other than being able to use either weapon when you attack. There are also a couple of feats that allow you to take advantage of the other weapon and give yourself +1 to damage and +1 to AC/REF when you dual wield.

Because of the changes in two-weapon wielding, there is no more need to consider a staff a double weapon.
