Qucik Draw to sheath a weapon?

If you have the Quick Draw feat, can you later put your weapon away as a free action?

I thought that you could, but when it came up at the table, I could not find any ruling on it. Is this from an obsure source, or am I just misremembering (wouldn't be the first time)?

Not as written. Maybe it's a house rule you remembered. Or the regular rule that you can sheathe a weapon as part of a move if you have a BAB of +1 or higher.

Thankfully No. Once a weapon is out, there are few ways of putting it back without spending precious actions.

That's draw a weapon sheathe a weapon is always a move action that provokes an AoO.

It's harder to get the point end into the hole than it is too pull it out, and it leaves you unarmed hence the AoO and move action.

A shield on the other hand you can ready or loose as part of a move action if you have +1 BAB.

I stand corrected. Must be getting really old, if I'm forgetting such basic stuff. Thanks, Bagpuss.

Star Wars Saga Edition has a version of Quickdraw that lets you draw and holster weapons as a swift action, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

Swift actions are a bit more precious in D&D than they are in Saga though...

Its not the rules, but I would allow it. With all of those crazy phb II feats and so forth out there, good old quickdraw could use a little help to keep it competitive:)
