First Post
Hey there, i got some kinda compliacted issue and seek for any aid out there. I know there are many rules out there, but the one we use in our campaing is this of DweomerCratfs: familiar. Its about Chapter 10 and especially summoning a monstrous familiar.
For not to repeat, what I have written please click here, to read the thread on another board!

I already posted it on "houserules" board, but it seems to be wrong there, since there are not many ppl who viewed it yet, and I got no answer. Thanks for your patience and help in forward!

Sincerly,

Franc

See page 17 where they list the new feats for gaining familiars... you will find monstrous familiar also has a feat required.

Hey Sledge,

thanks for your answer!

page 17 says you might use OR the spell OR the feat. Its masters choice. My master let me choose to use a spell only, since feats are very limited.

In this book many familiars may be aquired bei EITHER th use of a spell OR through gaining the proper feat.

Would you mind taking a look at chapter 10 and tell me if I am correct, that I am able to use the benefit as written in the table 11/1 once I get a monstrous familiar?

Well as a DM I would require the feat. You could read the book that way if you tried, but there are quite a few areas of grey in that book. If your DM is cool with it, then you can do it of course.

thanks again for your fast answer!

What you mean with "areas of grey"? My master told me I could use the spell for summoning but he is undecided concerning the benefits. e.g. a Pseudodragon get you "see invisibility" wich might be very powerfull, but it always depends if you ever meet many invisibles. In my case we "encountered" invisible twice out of a fight. I already got the spell "see invisible" as a scroll, so it wont be much of an upgrade in this case. However: All I need to know if its correct to use the benefits written on this table? I see no difference of the benefit tables of other familiar towards table of mountrous familiar benefits. Do you see any?
