Question to Mongoose on Slaine RPG?

Does the main rulebook cover such weapons as Leyser guns/cannons/swords or will that be covered in a later expansion? If so which.

Hi there,

We have kept the main rulebook as close to traditional Celtic fantasy as possible, so no, no leysers in there - they will be appearing in a future supplement, however. . .

Hmmm bit disappointing. I thought one of the most interesting things about the Slaine stories was how it mixed up the genre's but still had a 'Celtic' twist to sci-fi concepts.

If its just going to be a traditional celtic setting I'm not sure how interested I'll be in it.

So will there be a "Time-Killer" type sourebook and idea how far down the line that will be?

Excellent, that will get you a sale from me. We don't have any good books similiar to celtic mythology out there. :)

Well, that was really our intention. We have been very surprised at how popular Judge Dredd has been over in the US, but I always feared there would be far fewer Slaine fanatics across the pond. A Celtic-based RPG, however, I had a feeling would be popular :)

We do not compromise on the Slaine background in the rulebook, but we have only dealt with the core Celtic mythos and how that was interpreted in the comic strip. Time travel and all the rest are coming, but they will be in a seperate supplement for those of you who wish to follow Slaine, without clogging up the rulebook for those who are after Celtic fantasy. This seems fairly reasonable to me as I believe any real Slaine fanatics will be after all the supplements anyway, while those who are just after Celtic fantasy will be able to pick and choose what they want to include in their games.

Hope that helps!

Well okay... I'm picking up my copy tonight, luckly the LGS owner happens to live in my neighbourhood so I'm just popping round to his house to pick it up.

Mongoose Matt, might also be pleased to know I bought Rookies Guide to the Justice Department and Psi-Talents the other weekend. I will be writing a review of the Psi-Talents book over the weekend once I've finished reading it, so far its pretty good.

I do have one complaint however, the Dark Judges are mentioned in the book as Psychic Entities but they aren't listed anywhere in the book.

When will we be seeing the Dark Judge's?

Heh :)

They are in the works, but we could _never_ have simply done the Dark Judges as a throwaway stat line in Psi-Talent. They will be getting a supplement all to themselves and they will be _mean_!
