Questions on old modules

Man, I'm a real module kick lately, huh?

Two (semi-)related questions.

One, how good was the 2E module "A Paladin in Hell"? Is it worth picking up to mine ideas from?

Two, in what modules or products (other than that one) does Emirikol the Chaotic appear? (Not counting his picture in the 1E DMG, of course.) I've always been curious about him, and if he actually has a personality/identity/backstory.

"Paladin in Hell" (penned by Monte Cook) is a fun looking module for high-level play. I'll admit I've never run it, however. Its climax involves a very neat method of victory condition, one I haven't seen in any 3rd edition modules to be honest.

[sblock]A Lawful Good cathedral has been "stolen" into the Nine Hells, and to bring it back and save the people and souls therein you have to sanctify it through various actions! The "cleaner" it gets, the more the planar penalties and special effects shift from the devils' favor, to your favor. Fantastic![/sblock]

Emirikol the Chaotic makes only one appearance to my knowledge, and that's here. He really HAS no backstory, and if he does, it's hidden along with Dave Trampier...

Wow, "A Paladin in Hell" sounds awesome.

And Emirkol never made any appearances outside the 1E DMG that I came across. Alas, he wasn't one of the classic characters profiled in the original Rogues Gallery, which is still one of the greatest sources of NPCs as far as I'm concerned.

Aha, you guys are wrong! :]

Emirikol the Chaotic appears in another illustration as well.

A classic one at that --- I think every pre-3.0 gaming group had one person
who wanted to play the riding-into-town-killing-commoners wizard that the
picture depicted.

Paladin in Hell rocked! Very old school (when we were still sorta in old school)!
Would love a 3.5 module that evoked that.
