When caculating the reduced cost of the item in gold pieces, does this now also shorten the amount of time it takes to craft an item that is measured in 1000gp per day?

My guess would be no, but just checking.

i would say all it does is reduce how much gold pieces you actually have to spend on materials, not the crafting time... that is what the other feat is for, the one that reduces the time.

Right, it only reduces the raw material cost not the GP "value" of the item. The "value" is what is used to determine the time it takes to craft an item.
