Quick question about Two-Weapon Fighting feat

Just to throw support to Coredump... he is exactly correct. You cannot use the feats (Rapid, etc) per hand and if you are using blasters you can only auto/multi-fire with your primary hand (well... that should be with ONE hand... it doesn't matter which it is as you can choose which hand is your primary and off each round so to speak).

I may be wrong but I think you could Rapid Shot AND multi-fire in the same round, but all penalties will stack. I didn't look it up but one is a feat and the other is the blaster itself. Might be feasible.

What the heck does "IDHMBIFOM" mean?! :) That is one I don't know afaik. :)

Hey, thanks. Let me return the favor...

Yes you can use rapid shot with multi/auto fire. In fact, in the RCR there is a big chart showing how they combine. (though it is fairly straightforward I thought.)
Since the penalties stack, I wouldn't use multi/auto fire without the multifire feat.

Are you guys sure about that? That is - can someone show me where you need to use a full attack action to make an attack with your off-hand?

Here's what I got from the SRD:

TWO-WEAPON FIGHTING
If you wield a second weapon in your off hand, you can get one extra attack per round with that weapon. You suffer a –6 penalty with your regular attack or attacks with your primary hand and a –10 penalty to the attack with your off hand when you fight this way.

I'm asking because we (my group) had this discussion a while back. We had assumed you needed a full attack to get both your attacks, but one of my players questioned that ruling and - when we went to the books - I don't think we ever found where it explicitly said you can only do an off-hand attack during a full attack action.

Any help?

It's here:

SRD said:
Multiple Attacks: A character who can make more than one attack per round must use the full attack action (see Full-Round Actions, below) in order to get more than one attack.

...

Full Attack
If you get more than one attack per round because your base attack bonus is high enough, because you fight with two weapons or a double weapon or for some special reason you must use a full-round action to get your additional attacks.

My scoundrel / soldier in Living Force has done it a couple of times (I won't have Multifire until my next level), but the penalties are pretty ugly, so I only do it while I'm running on a Force Point.

OK, if we're in agreement that rapid shot and multifire/autofire are only usable with your main-hand then do the penalties from rapid shot and/or multifire/autofire also apply to off-hand attack(s)?

Technically, rapid shot could be used with either hand, and you could probably use multifire on either hand, just not both hands.

But yes, the penalties are for all attacks. So using rapid shot, multifire, and two weapons, *all* attacks are at -6 (assuming all appropriate feats, and a light off hand weapon.)
