When giving xp after an adventure, does the whole group get xp for a cr 5 trap or just the rogue who found and disarmed it?

Whole group. And, by my reading, the rogue doesn't even have to find and disarm it - the fighter who voluntarily springs a trap so the rest of the group can get by unharmed has "defeated the challenge" just as much as a rogue who disarms it.

Even if they accidentally set off the trap, they get experience for surviving the counter, right?
Which is downright ridiculous. Since when do you become better at fighting and spellcasting by setting of a trap?

Since when do you become better at fighting for disarming a trap or better at disarming a trap for fighting? It's no more ridiculous than the entire XP system.

Right, but it does feel less wrong. ;)

XP for tripping it feels more right to me actually. Challenges (in D&D terms) use character resources. Disarming the trap doesn't, but tripping the trap does (HP, restoration spells, etc).

I'd give them partial experience for this. I'd give them NONE if they didn't find it, maybe 25% for setting off the trap intentionally. If they do something ingenius like setting off the trap remotely, then they'll get maybe 75% and then 100% for disarming it.
