Quicken Spell and Spell-like now swift action!?

To me, the naming scheme seems to make the differences fairly easy to remember. Immediate actions are the type of actions that you can do immediately. Swift actions are fast, but not so fast that they're free. Seems pretty simple.
I can see how you feel that way. And I'm not saying either way is rocket science. But for me, the previous way is simpler. It's that, err, simple. Some people think the new Weapon Sizing rules are simpler than the old ones were. More power to them. To me, 3.0 Weapon Sizing was simpler than 3.5. ;)
Another thing that you have mentioned multiple times is that the core rules shouldn't be changed because of a specific supplement. I urge you to look at this from the point of a game designer, rather than a player.
Why in the world would I want to do this? I'm not a designer, I'm a player. To be quite blunt, I don't care what's easier for designers. I care what's easier for DMs and players. IMO, the Core Rules are easier without Swift and Immediate actions than with them.

However, I'm going to bow out of this discussion at this point. Since Swift and Immediate actions aren't Core, as far as I know, I really have nothing to complain about. I don't use the MH and XPH. So until 4e comes out and I have to swallow them down, Swift and Immediate actions don't impact my game. My original post was merely a mini-rant against what I see as a re-complication of what were meant to be simplified mechanics. Not an attempt to sway people to my way of thinking.

Rant over. ;)
