R1: Hired Hands (nimisgod judging)

"Well, the Wizards' Council and the Priests' Council run the city government jointly, so technically they both conrol the City Watch. Since the Wizard's Council is handling this particular investigation, the Watch reports to them regarding what they find." Donterrio stands as the party makes preparations to leave.

At Valan's last comment, the cleric pauses, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Anything you can do for us? Yes, yes I think there is. Wait here one minute, please." With that, Donterrio hurries out of the room. A few minutes later he returns, accompanied by an older gentleman. "Gentlemen, may I introduce Master Tellan, the head of our Roadhouse."

Master Tellan looks around the room, then sits down in one of the chairs. "Ah, I'm getting too old to stand on ceremony," he adds with a chuckle. "Layman Donterrio tells me that you are on your way to Ravensdale to investigate the caravan attacks. He also tells me that you are willing to take a job for us. We are thankful for your offer and would like to take you up on it. You see, we have a package that we need delivered to the Roadhouse in Ravensdale and the caravan that was supposed to take it has been postponed. If you could make the delivery for us, we would be very grateful."

"I'll take that as a yes"

Valan reaches to shake the mans hands "It's a pleasure to help, just tell me the intended recipient and we'll be off"

"Unless there is something else? Farewell then"

New package in tow, Valan will return to the spot the party spit off from

OOC: [sblock] Sorry, if I jumped the gun a bit, I get paranoid at game pauses[/sblock]

Mindfull of the limited budget which the party has to work with, Tor selects the less expensive inn. In spite of his annoyance at the snootier inkeeper, he will in fact follow his advice and get a bath before making his presence overly known in "Old Gertrude."

When Ragnikyr gets to Old Gerty, he does the Gathering of the Information. Total mods: +3.

OOC: My grandmother was named Gertrude.

Cheers,
Roger

Master Tellan smiles at Valan's response. He motions to Donterrio, who slips out of the room quickly and returns just a few moments later with a satchel in hand. "Inside that satchel is a scrollcase that needs to be delivered to Master Romano of the Roadhouse of Ravensdale. Also in there you will find two light cure potions, which shall be considered your payment for this service. Time is not necessarily of the essence in this issue, but promptness is to be encouraged. Now if you will excuse us, we must get back to the business of running this holy place."

Master Tellan stands and shakes hands with each of you, then departs the room. Donterrio smiles at the group. "Thank you for this service, and may Grendath's fortune shine on you." Then he, too, leaves.

The three adventures leave the church and head back to the East Gate, where they left their companions. They arrive on East Street and see Kerrz sitting on a stool outside of the Old Gertrude Inn. "Ah, there you are. Any luck? got BusterJack stabled and Tor has procured us a couple of rooms in this place. It ain't exactly decadent, but it's homey enough." The warrior then leads the rest of the party into the common room where Tor sits expectently, having just availed himself of the luxury of a private bath.

ooc: Tor, the bath costs you 5 copper here. Nothing fancy, but good enough to get you presentable.

"Thanks Tor, Kerrz, great job" Valan sets his things down on the table, pulling a small wooden box out of his bag, "Which rooms are ours?"

Valan sets his things down in a room and returns to the group "I'm going to run this by the merchants quarter real quick, would anyone like to come with?"
