R1: Hired Hands (nimisgod judging)

Finding his crossbow, Gideon picks it up and stands. He flips a small wooden archery target into the air while speaking the draconic word for 'Precision'.

OOC: Gideon will grab his crossbow and stand (Assuming I can "draw" the crossbow and move as a single move action). Then he will cast True Strike.

Edit - this is assuming the gnolls at range do not close. As Gideon acts after the gnolls, I may change his action once I find out what they are doing.

Kerrz, you get an AoO on gnoll #3 when he enters your melee range, so swing away before we continue with the first full round.

Looking at the map, I can't figure out how the Gnoll triggered this attack of opportunity, as Kerrz does not appear to have reach. Merely entering a threatened square doesn't provoke an AOO, it's moving through or out of a threatened area that does it. Perhaps I missed something...

Since Tor goes last, the situation is likely to change before he's up. However, should that not be the case, he will draw his chain as he stands up (move action) and ready an action to strike any opponent coming within his 10' reach.

Round 1

ooc: Yes, it was a readied attack, not an AoO. Blame me for confusing terms.
LogicsFate, you need to have a BAB of at least +1 to combine two move actions into one, so you won't be able to stand, ready your crossbow and cast your spell all this round.

Inspired by Ragnikyr's song, Kerrz takes a mighty swing at the gnoll in front of him. The gnoll barely avoids the blow, and it snarls in rage.

Valan, awakened by his comrade's shout, climbs to his feet and readies his shield against the attack he's sure is about to befall him.

The gnoll that just avoided Kerrz' attack returns the blow. Kerrz, his combat senses somehow heightened by the music coming from the bard's lute, manages to sidestep the battleaxe as it passes just to his left.

The gnoll to the left of the party steps a little closer to the camp and fires his shortbow at Ragnikyr, hoping to end the infernal, to its ears at least, music. The arrow flies true this time, burying itself deep into Ragnikyr's thigh. The bard falters for a second, but manages to maintain his song.

The gnoll to the right of the party follows his fellow bowman's lead. He steps up and takes a shot at Valan. The arrow manages to find a path around the cleric's shield and strikes Valan in the arm, leaving a serious gash.

ooc: I'll let Patlin and IcyCool revise their actions now, if they want to. The gnoll bowmen are now 5' closer.

[sblock]Kerrz attack: 12
gnoll 3 attack: 17
gnoll 2 attack: 19
gnoll 2 damage: 5
gnoll 1 attack: 15
gnoll 1 damage: 4[/sblock]

Tor's Revised Action: Urgently wanting to stop the hail of arrows, Tor stands up while drawing out his spiked chain. He moves next to the Gnoll on the left, within 5' of him. Hopefully, the Gnoll will draw an attack of opportunity if it tries to shoot or draw a weapon, as it cannot get out of Tor's threatened area with a 5' step.

Round 1 continued

Tor leaps to the ready and, chain in hand, moves up to engage the gnoll on the left.

Gideon, remaining on the ground, manages to ready his crossbow. He then flips his token into the air and intones the key word to unlock the magic for his spell.

ooc: end of combat round 1. Tor is now in melee range of gnoll 1.

Kerrz takes in the rancid breath of the beast infront of him and stares the creature down as he brings his scimitar up high and swings down for another strike.
