Tor and Kerrz sit at the table and relax while Ragnikyr wanders to the bar and begins talking up some of the locals. A few hours, and a few drinks, later, the bard finds himself a few gold crowns lighter but a little more knowledgable.

Ragnikyr: [sblock]He learns that, indeed, the City Watch is preparing to send a few patrols south and west of the city in search of a band of goblins suspected of being behind the caravan raids. Also, there is apparently some sort of rivalry between Allimon and Ravensdale, as the other city was not spoken of very fondly, with comments degrading Lord Rehvand, the city council and the Blackwings, Ravensdale's version of town guard. The locals, including one drunken guardsman, seemed especially contemptful of the fact that Ravensdale couldn't even handle their end of the caravan investigation on their own and are rumored to be hiring outside mercenaries to do the work for them. One patron, who had recently arrived in Allimon after passing through Ravensdale, commented that the Blackwings appeared more concerned with a couple of warehouse robberies in town than the caravan incidents outside of it.

ooc: Ragnikyr's Gather Info: 17, the effort costs you 4 gp.[/sblock]

Meanwhile, Valan and Gideon leave Old Gertrude's and head off to the Merchant's Quarter. After a half hour of walking, and stopping once or twice to ask directions, the cleric and the sorcerer find themselves standing on Crown Street, the main thoroughfare running from the South Gate to a large keep in the center of the city. Shops, stalls, warehouses, offices, if it has to do with business it can be found on or near this street.

Valan keeps an eye out for the place "You see the Iron Forge yet, Red?" While walking Valan will shift the box from a left tilt to a right, hoping to divine some clue of the possible contents.

ooc: I was wondering if any of you would remember that little side job. :p

You see no signs for the Iron Crown Forge near you, and shaking the box gives no clue as to its contents.

Valan starts asking around and suggests Gideon to do the same

OOC: [sblock]Are you kidding? Have you ever tried to hold an unopened gift and NOT think about it, I've been speculating about this thing since you gave it to us, so far I'm thinking it's somewhere in bettween a bomb and a box of choclates or some combination there of[/sblock]

The first Allimonite you ask is familiar with the name. "Ah, yeah, I know the Iron Crown Forge. Good place, run by a good man. He's located all the way down next to the South Gate. Big building, big sign, can't miss it."

Valan, hopefully with Red in tow will hurry that way, eager to finish this task

OOC: Sorry for the short post, I'm heading for international water tomorrow, and may be unable to post for several days

At the end of Crown Street, just to the left of the Guard Tower at the South Gate, you see a large two-story brick building with a massive chimney rising out of the center. A large sign over the double doors proclaims this as Iron Crown Forge, Barak Silverbeard proprietor. The doors are shut and a "closed" sign is hung on one of them. Activity can be heard inside, however.
